"What you did was unprofessional. Do you realize how bad you acted? There is no way you thought about that. You broke into his house, you attacked him. What would you have done if we weren't there Emily?" Hotch yelled. He had driven them to his office so she didn't attack Will again.

"I was going to kill him." She said dead serious.

"Emily. You are an FBI agent. You cannot threaten to kill people."

"It wasn't a threat."

"What was it then, if not a threat."

"It was a promise."

She started to cry as she wiped the tears away.

"He hit her. You know that? We sat in this building as she covered bruises. Everyday. She went home and got attacked." She voice started to rise.

"We are fucking profilers. And nobody realized. We didn't realize she wasn't safe at home. Now she is safe and he still threatens to kill her."

Hotch sat silent.

"That day I found her in the tub, he was the reason. She was lying on her living room floor as he choked the life out of her."

"She felt worthless. She felt like she had failed, because we are FBI agents. She tried to kill herself because of him."

"So I am sorry if I wanted to make her feel better. But she deserves someone to stand up for her when she needs."

She was now standing. In her rant she had managed to yell and stand up without missing a breath.

"If anyone asks I yelled at you. For the next case you can't go into the field. You'll stay at the police station." He said when she calmed down. "But please don't threaten to kill anyone else."

She nodded and walked out to the bullpen. JJ was standing by her office door. She heard the whole conversation.

"Jay. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have told him all that. I got caught up in the moment. That wasn't my story to tell." She started.

JJ ran towards her and hugged her as tight as she could.

"Thank you." She wispered in her ear.

"For what?"

"Being there." She said as the two walked out.

~two months later~

It had been a while since Emily committed a crime.

"I need everyone now" Hotch said as they all rushed to the conference room.

"Dallas. Three police officers have been kidnapped. Along with their police chief."

"Is there more? You made it sound a lot worse." Morgan asked looking at the file.

"The police chief is Elle. She's been missing for a day." Hotch replied. He said his famous line and they all left for the plane, including Penelope.

Emily knew who Elle was. They worked together on a case in Dallas before.

As the team arrived they got settled on the police station. Nobody was to leave alone.

They worked on the case, eliminating possible unsubs before being sent to a hotel.

"Room assignments my babies. Hotch and Rossi in 201, JJ and Emily in 210, and boy genius, chocolate thunder and I in 203." Garcia said passing out keys.

"Why so far away?" Emily asked confused.

"They were low on rooms. 201 has two twin beds, our room has a queen and a twin. I got you two each a queen bed." Garcia said. "Reid was acting weird on the jet and I want to stay with him. To make sure he's okay." She whispered to Emily.

Everyone left to their rooms with their go bags.

"What do you wanna watch?" JJ said as she snuggled next to Emily. They used the spare bed to hold their bags.

"How about we don't watch anything." Emily said looking at JJ.

The blonde looked back and leaned in for a kiss. Emily grabbed the blondes face closer.

They continued to kiss as Emily straddled JJ. They broke for a moment to allow JJ to take of Emily's shirt.

Emily started to unbutton JJ's shirt as someone knocked at the door.

"Damn it." Emily said slightly pouting. She got up and looked through the peep hole. It was Hotch.

"Fuck. Move the bags." She whispered as JJ started to make the other bed look used.

"Shirt." JJ whispered back as she threw the crumpled shirt at Emily.

"Hey Hotch. What do you need?" Emily said finally opening the door.

"We're heading out. We have a lead." He said walking away.

The couple got dressed and followed him out.

"Meet Andrew Figson. His father was a cop that was never home. His mom died while giving birth. He matched the profile and lives in the geographical area we talked about." Aaron said passing out his photo.

"His house also has a spooky cellar." Garcia added as the team got ready to leave.

"Andrew Figson FBI. We know you are here." Derek yelled as he kicked down the door.

Figson tried to run out the back but Hotch caught him and arrested him.

The local cops opened the cellar doors to find Elle banging on it.

She climbed out and looked around. There he was.

He saw her and held out his arms. Elle jumped and wrapped her legs around him, pulling him into a tight hug.

"Hey Spence."

"Hey Elle."

He held on a little while longer during their hug. He put her down while her arms still wrapped around his neck. With her feet on the ground she pulled him down and kissed him.

The team looked from afar. "So. Spencelle. I knew it would happen." Garcia said happily.

When the pair finally walked over to the rest of the team Derek piped up. "So how long have you two been together?"

They smiled. "About six months." Spencer said looking at the ground. "No way. I would have figured it out." Derek said shaking his head.

"I dunno Derek. I always was a better profiler." Elle said with a smirk.

The team caught up and headed back to Virginia, Elle included.

"Elle. My office." Hotch said pulling her aside. The two talked for a while as Reid watched their conversation.

When she walked out she said smiling "He offered me a job."
