*Ashton's POV *

I was walking through the halls, still limping, when Luke came over.

"Ash? Why are you limping?" He asked.

"I pulled a muscle." I lied.

"Really? Ashton. What happened?" Damn. He could see right through my lies.

"I pulled a muscle." I pressed. He gave me a look. A suspicious look. And I might've been nervous.

"I have to go to maths. I'll see you in art and then you'll tell me why you were limping." Luke said and the he turned left.

*Luke's POV *

I get into maths and the teacher is by her desk. Ms. Jordan is a nice teacher, in her 30s, and she is funny. She doesn't show favorites and she is from Ohio.

"Does anyone know where Riley and Avie are?" Ms. Jordan asked looking up from the attendance sheet.

I raise my hand. She calls on me. "Riley and Avie are out sick. I'm friends with both and both their parents are away on work trips. They told me to tell you they have a stomach bug, and to ask for their work." I lie effortlessly.

"Oh. Okay. Well tell them I hope they get better." She said.

I raised my hand again. "Can I go to the restroom?" I ask. She nods and I leave the classroom.

I call Avie. 5 rings later she picks up.

"Luke? What's up?" Avie asks casually.

"Oh nothing. I just had to lie for you to not get in trouble." I say sassily.

"Oh yeah sorry." She apologizes.

"Just tell me next time so I can make up a better lie." I state. I'm honestly not mad.

"Okay. Sorry Lukey." She says guiltily.

"It's alright. Bye Av." and with that I hang up.

I walk back into class and the lesson is boring.

I'm now in art. Good. I get to se why Ashton is limping and why he was lying to me about it.

"He Ash." I say, sitting next to him.

"Hey Luke." He greets.

"So.... The limp?" I ask.

"It's nothing... don't worry about it." He says.

His phone vibrated in his pocket and he looked at it and his eyes went wide.

He answered it and started talking to the person.

"Hello- what- how- is she alright- but she's not- oh- I'll be there- and Harry?- okay- I'll pick him up then be there- thank you." He hung up and packed all his stuff, waking right out of the classroom.

*Ashton's POV *

Lauren's in the hospital. Oh no. I need to go to Harrys school and pick him up. Then go to the hospital. Dad is somewhere not answering his phone.

"I need to pick up Harry Irwin." I say to the desk guy at the elementary school.

"Okay. He is in room 14. You can go get him. I'll sign him out." He said and I nodded and thanked him.

"Ashton?" Harry questioned once I stepped into the classroom.

"Who are you?" The teacher asked.

"I'm here to pick up Harry." I say politely while she basically scoffs at me.

"Are you 18. I don't think so. How old are you? 14? 15? Not 18! Your not allowed to pick him up from school early." She spat.

"Harry pack your stuff we're leaving." I said.

"Where's Lauren?" He asks.

"We're going to go see her." I say.

"Where is she?" He presses further.

"Do you need to pack this?" I aks, changing the subject. He shakes his head 'no' and I pack what he does need.

"Ashy. Where so Lauren?" He asks.

"She's is currently at the hospital. Come on." I said and put his bag on my shoulder.

He starts to tear up. In the middle of class.

"Why?" He asks. A tear falls down his cheek and I swipe it away with my thumb.

"She fell down a flight of stairs and broke her leg." I said, and he stopped crying.

"Oh. That's not too bad, I guess." He said.

"Come on." I'm said and grabbed his hand.

"Where's your father?" The teacher asked us.

"Don't know." I mumbled and walked out the door. We walked to the hospital. I sign the papers and take my beautiful sister home. We eat pizza. Talk about our day. And, since it's Thursday, our father won't be home until Wednesday next week.
