Chapter 13- A Best Friend

*Avie's POV *

I'm scared. What if no one likes me? What if the think I'm weird? I don't want to be the weird new girl. Only a couple minutes till we get there. No!!

"Alright baby, remember. You can't tell anyone we are your parents okay?" Harry says. You can see he is sad be cause his eyes are watering.

"I know daddy. Love you! Love you dad!" I say as I slowly get out of the car. (She calls Harry daddy, and Louis dad.)

I walk into my classroom. My teacher is Ms. Hemmings. I talked to her yesterday and her son is in this class.

I am creating my name tag. I chose the white paper with black and gray markers.

"Class. I need to check next door. Be good please." She said befor walking out.

Once she left two guys came up to me.

"So, your the new weird kid, huh. " He said. I didn't say anything I just kept looking at my name tag.

"Hey!" The bigger one, Jeff, said and took my black marker.

"Stop it!!" I hear someone yell. "Leave her alone! Get away!" It's Luke! He's sticking up for me!

Luke is skinnier, but he has more muscle. Well. As much as a kindergartner can have. Jeff was just tall and bulkey. Not actually strong.

I keep looking at my paper. I am about to cry. My breath is gone.

"Are you okay?" Luke asks me once Jeff leaves. I just shake my head. He sets on his knees. "Come here." He says.

I sit next to him, my whole body shaking. He wraps his arms around me. "You're okay "

"N-no. I knew they wouldn't-t like m-me. " I started sobbing. Luke lifted me so I was standing. He lead me out the door and sat down and pulled me down next to him. He pulled me to him so my face was buried in his neck.

"Better? All the kids are gone now. " He whispered in my ear. I nodded to answer him.

"Hey. Let's make a deal yeah? We can be best friends and never leave each other's side! Forever!" Luke said happily. And for the first time since I got here, the new girl in the middle of the year, I felt safe. Protected. I had a friend. A best friend!!
