The Unexpected

Confrontations

Magnolia was sitting in the library. She was reading a book on magical pregnancies since she knew nothing about them. "Bloody hell."
She whispered. Magnolia continued to scan her eyes over the book as Theodore Nott walked over to her.

He cleared his throat and Magnolia looked up. "Nott, did you know there was a case in Normandy where this witch gave birth to a house elf?" Theodore's brows furrowed as Magnolia continued reading. "Oh," Her face showed disgust. "Um turns out the father was a house elf." Theodore sat down across from her.

"Cut the crap, Potter. I know Draco's the father." Magnolia looked up. Her eyes widening. "What!?" Theodore sighed. "Don't you remember what happened a few months ago?"

Magnolia and Draco were lying in bed. Magnolia had the blanket pulled up to her chest while Draco's chest was uncovered. He had his hand resting on Magnolia's thigh while rubbing circles on the inside of it with his thumb.

"Would you want a fall or winter wedding?" Draco whispered, staring up at the ceiling. Magnolia couldn't help but crack a smile. "Draco." She laughed. Draco looked over at her. "I'm serious. We only have two more years of school left." Magnolia propped herself up on her elbows. "We're getting married?" Draco nodded as he looked back up at the ceiling.

"Yes. After we graduate so fall or winter?" Magnolia laid back down. "I don't remember getting a proposal." Draco sighed. "Answer the question and I'll give you the biggest, most fanciest proposal ever," Magnolia shook her head while laughing.

"Well?" Draco asked. Magnolia smiled. "Winter. Right before Christmas but it has to be a day that there's snow." Draco grinned. "I'll make it snow just for you, love." Draco leaned over and pecked Magnolia's lips as the door opened.

Theodore Nott stood in the doorway with wide eyes. Draco and Magnolia pulled away to see him and Magnolia face blushed a deep red. "Get out!" Draco shouted. Theodore nodded. "Sorry. I uh-." He turned and left.

Magnolia groaned. "Great now it's going to be all over school." Draco shook his head. "No," He looked back down at Magnolia. "I'll threaten him later." Magnolia shook her head. "Don't do that." Draco rolled his eyes. "Oh come on. You like it when I take charge."
He whispered as he leaned down.

Magnolia looked up. "Don't tell anyone please." Theodore nodded. "So it's true. How'd he reaction?" Magnolia looked down at the book. "He doesn't know it's his." Theodore's jaw dropped. "What?" He asked. Magnolia looked up at him. "Don't tell him or I will hex you to the states and back." Theodore shook his head. "I swear you and Draco are always threatening me," Theodore looked at the cover of Magnolia's book. "So who does Draco think the father is?" Magnolia looked down at her hands. "Fred Weasley. A lot of people think that actually." Theodore nodded. "Hmm. Why are you reading that?" Magnolia looked down at it. "Well, I uh-I know absolutely nothing about pregnancies, magical and muggle." Theodore nodded. "Well, first off I can tell you that they are both the same," Theodore slipped the book out of her hands.

"And secondly, My sister just had a baby so I know a little bit." Magnolia leaned forward. "Wait really? That's amazing. I need someone like that right now. Hermione-I love her but she's a bit overbearing and Ginny," Magnolia scoffed. "Ginny doesn't have a single feminine bone in her body so she knows absolutely nothing just like me." Magnolia looked down at the table and tapped her fingers against it. 

Theodore sighed. "If you want this weekend we could go to Hogsmeade and get some parenting books for you to read." Magnolia leaned forward. "Wait, you'd do that for me?" Theodore nodded. "Yeah." Magnolia fiddled with her fingers. "Are you sure? You don't have to do that especially after fourth year." She whispered. Theodore sighed. "Mags, I still care about you. We were each other's first everything. Did it hurt seeing you with Draco? Yes. Do I still care about you in that way? Not really but I want to see you happy. We got close while we were dating." Magnolia nodded. Theo thought he was her first everything. Maybe her first kiss and first boyfriend but he wasn't even close in the sex category. "Yeah. We did didn't we. It's a shame what happened. I'm sorry about it." She whispered. Theodore sighed. "It's alright. I forgive you. I mean I was getting distant. It was bound to happen." 

It was the weekend now and Magnolia and Theo were walking through the bookstore. Magnolia looked over the shelf at Theo. "Find anything yet?" She asked. Theo shook his head. "Nothing," Magnolia looked back down at the shelf and continued browsing. 

"Ah-ha!" Magnolia and Theo shouted together. They both ducked down. Magnolia grabbed a book on the bottom shelf and stood back up. She showed the book to Theo as he showed his to her. It was the same book. They both started to laugh. "I guess Hogsmeade doesn't expand their population a lot." Theo said, disappearing to put his book on the shelf. Magnolia looked down at the cover. "Guess not." Theo sighed. "Well I guess we should get going, huh?" Magnolia nodded. "Yeah." 

They walked into the three broomsticks and sat in the back corner. Magnolia pulled the book out and started to leave through it. "So have you started showing yet?" Theo asked. Magnolia nodded. "Yeah. I actually have been for a few weeks now. I just uh, I'm not excited Theo. This is going to ruin my life." Theo rubbed the back of his neck. "It's kind of your fault," Magnolia gave him a testing look. "And the father's fault but think of it this way. You don't have any family." Magnolia's jaw dropped. "Oh real nice. Thank you for reminding me, Nott. I appreciate it." Theo sighed. "Let me finish please," Magnolia gestured for him to continue. "This baby will be your family. When it's born, you'll love it more than anything." Magnolia nodded. "I suppose you're right." Theo smiled. "I'm always right."
