Smash Bros stories because I couldn't think of a better name

The Next...Fighter? (September 12th, 2018)

Its the day before the next Direct and our main four find themselves struggling to come up with an answer to one simple question...who's next to be added to Smash Ultimate?

Mario: Well, this is a pickle.

He then looks down at the table to see an invitation left by the Smashlord.

Link: I suppose I may have been good thing we had that earthquake then, huh?

All: LINK!

Link: I'M KIDDING! I'M KIDDING! It was obviously very tragic amd I hope those people are okay!

Mario: *Sigh...* There's a reason you're not the main presenter.

Link: I'm well aware. Anyways, so who were you thinking off this time exactly?

Mario: Well, we were just going to go with our default answer when we can't figure this out.

Link: You're going to get that Sun guy? I thought we agreed that was an absolute last resort.

Mario: Well unless we can come up any other alternatives, that's what we're going with!

Pikachu: Okay then let's all think together...

All: Hmmm....

Pikachu: How about someone from my franchise?

Kirby: Hmmmm...that's not necessarily a bad idea. I mean, would you say that's bad business, Mario?

Mario: I'm not all about business Kirby, but I think if we did get someone from Chu's franchise, it would be for the best if we did it sooner rather than later, but maybe a bit later.

Kirby: Okay then. We'll hold it off until later then. Link, you have anything to say?

Link: I can definitely say that I think it would make sense that after all the new fighters that showed up last month, if we got someone a bit closer to the ground.

Mario: That makes sense. Let's think about that...Hmmm...

Kirby: Close to the ground...

Pikachu: Maybe you could tie it in with another game in this direct.

Mario: Good idea. Let's take a look at the list. *Pulls out clipboard.* Let's see...a spin-off with my brother...nah...

Kirby: Maybe one of these re-releases...

Mario: Hmmmm...nah...I mean what kind of material is anyone going to get out of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe?

Pikachu: Again, my franchise is ripe for the picking.

Link: Question: looking at this we don't have any sort of big finale planned outside of this announcement. Have you asked anyone else if they have anything to show?

Mario: Yes I asked almost every fighter if they have anything and they all gave me an honest answer with either a yes or no.

Link: ALMOST every fighter?

Mario: Uhhhh...I meant every Fighter obviously! Sorry, slip of the tongue.

Link: Who didn't you ask?

Link: Of course.

Kirby: Sorry. We just cannot converse with that man. All he makes us want to do is walk away slowly, call 911, and have him shipped out of the building. Even someone as tolerant as me can barely speak with him.
