The Grinch Heist (Part 2)

Mario, Kirby, Sonic and Mickey are in the van heading to the portal in silence, still in shock at their so called "Partners in crime."

Mario: So...he wasn't joking...

Kirby: We owe Link even more money now...

Mario: He's going to clear us out by the time development is over at this rate!

Kirby: Don't you think we should say something?

Mario: What is there to say? This is insanity of the highest regard!

Mickey: I can hear you both you know. These ears ain't just for show!

Mario: Really? I couldn't be sure! Considering how much of a big deal they are in terms of marketing, I wouldn't be surprised if they were!

Mickey: Hey! One could say the same thing about your mustache, plumber boy!

Mario: Try me mouse.

Kirby: Alright alright! Calm down you two! We've got a job to do first!

The plumber and the mouse then grumbled as they got back into their seats.

Mickey: So...speaking of which...what is this big heist you needed hired help for?

Mario: Hey! The AD said no questions asked!

Mickey: Oh don't worry. We won't tell, only judge.

Mario: Well...

Mario then went on to do an exposition dump explaining the Grinch Leak.

Mario:...and that's the long and short of it.

Mickey: So...all this for the sake of infuriating the fans.

Mario: Are you saying you wouldn't do that as well?

Mickey: Not necessarily...but not to this level!

Sonic: I would!

Mickey: I know you would buddy.

Kirby: So...what about you? What makes you two so interested in doing this?

Mickey: Its...personal.

Sonic: Mick...

Mickey: Alright. You know how the internet keeps an archive of almost everything? Well, I was hoping that I could use that to save a couple of friends of mine from the theme parks.

Sonic: And I'm here to make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble.

Mickey: As he does. *Smiles.*

Sonic: *Smiles back.*

Mario:......gay.

Mickey: WHAT!?!?!?

Sonic: Mick, mick...he's not worth it...

Mickey: You're right. Let's focus on the mission at hand.

Kirby: Right and we'll focus on ours, but not without helping you out. After all, we are partners.

Mario: Hmph!

Mickey: Hmmmm...

Sonic: Well, good news. We're here.

The four then got out and looked at the huge portal in front of them.

Mario: Well...there's no going back now...

Kirby: Now we just need to make sure that this is even possible...

Mickey: Wait...you recruited us without knowing rather or not this was even possible?

Mario: Have you ever greenlit a movie without even knowing who's directing or who's in it? This is the exact same thing.

Mickey: Oh...that was just cold!

Kirby: No need to argue you two. We got a hit.

The other three looked at the panel on the side of the portal, seeing that it now read "internet."

Mario: Ha-ha! Now we're getting somewhere!

Mickey: The question is where? Knowing you plumber, its nowhere.

Mario: Say that again! Rat!

Mickey: You heard what I said...Toilet cleaner!

Mario: Ergh....

Mickey: *Smirks*

Kirby: I can hear you both you know.

Sonic: So can I. So again, focus.

Mario and Mickey then stand up straight so as to not look bad in front of their best friends, before Mickey looks pleased and Mario looks excited as the portal opens.

Mario: Well...this is it.

Kirby: No going back.

Mickey: Well then. *Steps forward* Let's do it.

Sonic: Okay, but remember we need to work together!

Mickey: *Pushes Mario out of the way* No way! *Jumps in*

Mario: As if! *Jumps in*

Kirby: *Sigh...*

Sonic: Well, I guess its up to us to keep this from crumbling.

The Pink Puffball and the blue blur then hopped in after the Plumber and the mouse as they entered the internet...which looked like a desktop with several floating icons which represented the usual apps one would normally see...

Author's notes: "Why Mickey Mouse?" I'm sure is the first question to come to mind.
Well truth be told the same time I was obsessing over solving the Grinch Leak was the same time I was obsessing over theme parks thanks to the channel Defunctland. Excellent channel.

Anyways, the same day that the final Smash Direct was announced was the same day I got his book, "Guide to the Magic Kingdom" in the mail, so when I first came up with these stories I had both Mario and Mickey Mouse in my head so I decided to combine the two.

Now why do they hate each other and how did Mick and Sonic meet? Those answers will come at a later time, so for now please be patient.

Also addressesing the Author's notes from last chapter, it turns out I was ahead of the curve at calling out Gamexplain! Who knew? (Not me.)
