~ Chapter 8 ~

The next morning, Taichi had woken up to Sora still softly sleeping as her face was turned towards his. Taichi blushed but he didn't make any sudden movements as he didn't want to wake her up. She's a beautiful sleeper. He thought as he smiled at his future wife. My future wife. He thought as he still couldn't believe it. "She's my future wife." He spoke as he hoped that saying it out loud would help him believe it more. 

Taichi knew that it would take more than just saying it out loud to help him believe it. He then wondered if telling Yamato about it would help him believe it even more. Of course, it will! He thought. Yamato's my best friend. He then finished his thought as he had carefully gotten up from the bed. Taichi wanted to tell Yamato privately, however, as he still didn't want a stranger to overhear the news and hurt Sora as he didn't want anything to happen to her while he could prevent it. 

Taichi then texted Yamato, asking him what he was doing after school. When he got an positive response about him being free, Taichi nearly jumped for joy. Yes! I'm going to make sure that me and Yamato will not be eavesdropped on as this is very important. He thought as he made sure that he kept Sora's safety in mind as he didn't want her to get hurt because of him. He never wanted her to get hurt because of her being his future wife. He wanted her to be safe and happy with him and if he has to fight because of his dad's rivals trying to hurt her, then so be it. It's his job to make sure that Sora stays safe and happy. He wasn't going to let anything stop him from protecting and loving Sora. He wanted to be the best future husband to Sora and he was going to make sure that he did his best for Sora and their future marriage. 

Taichi knew that Yamato had great advice when it comes to him personally, which was why he wanted to talk to him. When he noticed Yamato on the way to school, he waved him over and Yamato approached. "Hey, man. What's up?" Taichi smiled at the greeting. 

"I got some great news to tell you, man." He answered and Yamato smiled a little bit.

"What is it?" He asked her. 

"Me and Sora are engaged." Taichi spoke and Yamato then laughed. 

"That's great." Taichi was floored by Yamato's not-shocked response to the news. 

"You don't even seem that surprised." Taichi tells him and Yamato playfully rolled his eyes. 

"I was waiting for you two to start dating honestly." He was honest with Taichi and Taichi then laughed at Yamato's face at him. "I swear you looked at her all of the time." He said, smirking at Taichi. 

"Aw, shut it, Yamato." He tells him as Yamato chuckled at him.

"But, seriously, that is awesome, man." Yamato congratulated Taichi about the engagement once again. 

"Thanks man, but I need help. How do I make sure that I will be the best boyfriend for Sora?" Taichi asked him and Yamato then placed his hand on his chin as he hummed. 

"Just continuing doing what you're doing, man. You're on the right track. Just be yourself." He answered Taichi and the teen smiled at his best friend. He really appreciated that Yamato gave him a pep talk. 

"Thanks man. I really appreciated it." He spoke as he high-fived the teen.
