The Perfect Arrangement ~ Taiora AU

~ Chapter 10 ~

It was now after school and Taichi was with his father as he was sitting in his own desk at the company that his dad owned. "Soon, Taichi, this entire company will be yours." He tells Taichi as he turned to look at him with an comforting smile. 

"How can you be sure that I'm the perfect choice and not Hikari?" He asked his father and the man smiled at him. 

"Well, Hikari has already told me that she wanted to be a kindergarten teacher." His dad tells him and Taichi felt bad that he had forgotten about that. Oh yeah, that is her dream. He thought as he frowned, looking down at himself. His father placed his hand on Taichi's shoulder. "Don't worry son, You'll do great." He told him, smiling. He knew that Taichi could handle the business but it was his job as his father to build up his son's confidence. He wanted Taichi to believe in himself and as his father, he knew that he would help Taichi build up his confidence levels. 

"Thanks, Dad. You're trusting me with your business and I will do my best to be the best businessman ever." Taichil tells his father, who laughed at his son's words. 

"I know you will be the best, Taichi. That's why Hikari recommended that you get the business." His father revealed to him and Taichi was shocked. 

"Kari wanted me to take over the business?" He asked his father, shocked at his words. 

"Yeah. Hikari had been telling me everything about your leadership ability and she also told me that you are definitely qualified to be the next big boss." He told Taichi, who was once again shocked. 

"Dad, you can't be serious. You have to be kidding me. Kari shouldn't say all of that when I costed my football team a lot of losses." Taichi spoke and his father frowned. Hikari did say that he was deeply hurt because of the losses but I don't think she imagined that he would blame himself for their losses. He thought as he smiled softly down at his son. 

"Son, football is a team sport. You as one person wouldn't cause a loss for a team effort. I see you practice and I see you lead. You're strong, Taichi. Don't forget that." His father told him and he gave Taichi a folder about the people that he was going to be meeting with. As Taichi read over the file, he then noticed that a couple of people's names were circled. 

"Hey, Dad, these people whose pictures are circled, we have to be careful of them?" He asked, keeping a watchful eye on the files that his father had given him. 

"Correct, son. These are the people who wanted me to give them the leadership role. I trust that they won't do anything but I also trust that they will try something, so please be careful." He told Taichi and Taichi promised that he would be careful. Well, I have to meet them in any case. Let's see which one is more suspicious. He thought as he put the file in his book bag. His father nodded his head in approval at him putting the file away in a safe place. 

Taichi raised his head to look up at the sky. I will learn to be a great boss. He thought as he smiled, the confidence building back up inside of him.
