Chapter 2

The night was insanely cold, as it was mid-December. I pulled out my phone and looked up the map for directions to the place I will be staying at. Despite it being late at night- or early in the morning, I had no idea, I could still see the city's bright neon lights. I arrived at my new "home" and immediately fell onto the couch. Fortunately we had some people help move furniture into the house before I arrived so it was all ready when I did. Unfortunately, I didn't exactly like the way things were placed, eh I'll change it tomorrow.

Since I didn't have anything special planned for today, I woke up at around 11:30 and went to the convenience store to buy onigiri or something for breakfast. Afterwards I decided to walk around the city to get a feel of the area. The city was hard to adjust to, seeing that I came from a very rural area in Texas. I'll get used to it, though.

A year later

This city life is honestly such a ripoff. I've been saving up money diligently so that I can get away from the city and live in a remote area far away from people again. That way I can just live a calm, low-maintenance life.

~End of Flashback~

Momo's daughters come back excitedly with their candies. The younger one had some Hello Kitty marshmallows while the older had strawberry flavored Pocky. The girls were so cute, and it had me thinking if I ever would want kids myself. I'm only 20, so it's not quite time for that yet. But, maybe someday.

Not a single customer came after Momo and her girls so I decided to leave early, around 7:00pm-ish. When I could see the house, there was a black car about to roll into my driveway. I sped up. I quickly dismounted Nako and instructed her to stay put for a minute. As I jogged up to the guy who was now exiting the car, a sense of familiarity struck me. Hold on, is that the guy from the bus two years ago? Why do I still remember his face? Hmm, maybe it's not him. This guy has silver hair with slight green highlights. Upon approaching him, I immediately started asking questions.

"What are you doing here?" I asked in my most intimidating Japanese voice. It hardly sounded threatening though. Darn this cute language. Now that I see him closer up, I can tell by his eyes that he is definitely the bus boy. He seemed startled so I felt kind of bad, but that still doesn't give him the right to be on my property for no apparent reason.

"A-ah, I'm sorry about that, I jus- I just didn't really know where to go..." He was obviously very intimidated by me, which I didn't expect. Okay, so this guy can't be all that bad if I can scare him this terribly.

"Yeah, whatever, just give me a minute to get my baby to bed." Once again, I have bamboozled the bus boy. I tried my best to hurry in putting Nako back in the barn. When I arrived back to see the bus boy still standing there. He hasn't even moved an inch. Anyways, I led him inside and invited him to sit down.

"So that's your baby?"

"Yup. Is there a problem?"

"No, not- not at all I was just..."

"Confused. Yeah, I get it." I got up and made my way towards the kitchen. "Want a cup of coffee?"

"Yes, please." He looks sort of uncomfortable so I think I should stop teasing him now.

I handed him his cup of coffee and sat down.

"I think I know you." I stated boldly.

"I was thinking the same thing." Awesome. He probably remembers me stumbling out of the bus, still half asleep. The real kicker is that he is in my house right now, sitting on my couch, with a cup of coffee that I made for him. "You're the girl from the bus two years ago, right?"

"Yeah..." I admitted. "Let's uh... forget about that. Okay?"

"Sure. I'm Kanemoto Yoshinori."

"Watanabe Hanako, at your service." I answered with a smile and held my hand out for him to shake. "I keep asking but you never told me, why are you here?"

"I'm a photographer from Kobe and I figured that I took pictures of everything the city had to offer so I came out here."

"Ahhh..." I replied, not really knowing what to say. "So where are you staying?"

"That I don't know." He blushed, taking a sip of his coffee. Gosh he's cute when he gets flustered. Wait, what am I saying? I barely even know him.

"You can stay with me, if you want." What?! I just said I don't know him and now I'm inviting him to stay in my house? Whatever, I'll just hope he declines.

"If you don't mind, that would be nice!" Dang it.
