Texts to Billie
"Hi"
"Hey uh Mike right?"
"Ya"
"Oh hey what's up.
" Not much, oh uh do you want to come hang out with me at the park?"
" Um ya sure, where you want to meet at?"
" I'll be standing by the big tree by the sidewalk"
" Uh ok"
" Oh also uh do you smoke?"
" No?"
" Why? "
"Just wondering"
I get up from the bridge and head to the tree where I said I'd meet Billie.
"Hey I'm here"
"K just around the corner"
"Oh nevermind I see you"
" Hey."
" Hey. "
We sit down underneath the tree.
" Uh Billie, can I tell you something? "
" Uh sure what is it?"
" It's about what happened this morning and that's what made me late to school? "
" Oh, uh what happened?"
" Um I uh I was raped. "
" Wait really, who would do that. "
" My uh step dad apparently. "
Billie sits there in silence.
" Hey you want to try one! "
"Try one what."
"Weed."
"Here let me get it started for you."
I grab some weed from the bag and I put it in the pipe that I stole from Reggie and I gave it to Billie.
"Here, all you do is you take the pipe and put it up to your mouth and you inhale then blow it out."
He takes one tiny inhale and blows it out then he starts coughing.
"No no like this."
I show him how to properly do it and then blow the smoke in his face. I give it back to Billie so he can try again. He inhales longer this time and blows out the smoke.
"Hey do you mind if uh maybe we could go to your place?"
He seemed like he was in shock.
" Uh ya sure but I think my mom is home meh she'll be fine with you over."
"Ok sounds good."
We get up from the tree and head to Billie's house.
