"Well it's pretty obvious that it's me, isn't it?" Badboyhalo blankly replied.
"What happened? I only thought you disappeared, not died-" Dream couldn't believe it. Specifically what he couldn't fathom was how much Badboyhalo seemed to have change. Sure he had a feeling Badboyhalo was dead, it was plausible given the circumstances. But why was Badboyhalo all hostile now? He may have only known him for a day but he had gathered a good idea of his personality.
"I was taken for testing and it went horrible. I died during the testing" Badboyhalo peeked outside as he spoke.
"How'd you die?" Dream asked, trying to get information on what he was being tested for. His heart dropped to the pit of his stomach though, how would George react if he heard the truth? What about Sapnap? As much as Sapnap assumes that Badboyhalo's dead, at least a tiny part of him has to hope that he's not?
"I got crushed to death. I think it was about 1,300 pounds that was being dropped on me" Badboyhalo explained.
"Around 1,300 pounds were being dropped on you??" Dream did a bit of a double take.
"Yep. It was essentially near instant. Before I even could react I was already dead, though the waiting was pretty painful. I got totally muffin'd" Badboyhalo finally replied.
Dream looked over at Skeppy, who'd been unusually quite.
"Skeppy?" Dream gestured for him to speak.
"Why'd you think they did that?" Skeppy questioned.
"Maybe they were testing to see if I could have the strength to hold it or if I was strong enough to withstand the weight. I don't know" Badboyhalo's last words sounded a bit annoyed. Dream noticed that Badboyhalo's tone overall though was filled with hints of hostility.
"What if you help us learn about the facility? Then we can escape!" Dream offered.
"No" Badboyhalo turned away.
"Why not?" Dream was surprised.
"Because frankly, I don't care about escaping. I'm already dead so there's literally no point. And even if I wanted to, I can't get past whatever barrier they have around the facility, and I'm a ghost!" Badboyhalo made it sound as if the answer was obvious.
"Then why are you here?" Dream stepped back in front of Badboyhalo.
"To haunt you" Badboyhalo said, shrugging.
"Haunt me?? What could you possibility be mad at me for? You knew me for a day before you died. There's zero reason for you to terrorize me" Dream snapped back.
"That's the point. I need someone to essentially vent my anger at since I didn't not deserve to die. I couldn't do that to George or Sapnap since they were my friends. But I can't haunt someone I've never meant before because that'd be awkward. So you're the perfect person to haunt" Badboyhalo casually explained.
"You really care if it's too 'awkward' haunt someone?" Dream said.
"Yep!" Badboyhalo responded.
Dream let out an exasperated sigh before flopping back onto his bed.
"So you're just going to follow me around and be annoying?" Dream glanced back over at him.
"That's pretty much it simplified" Badboyhalo agreed.
Dream stood back up, trying to see if there was anyway to notice how much time had passed. Luckily that question was answered for him when all the lights flickered on.
