Jeongguk and Lalisa arrived at Jeongguk's shortly after dining in Jo's Eatery.

And there the male was, absentmindedly pouring himself a glass of water close to overflowing. Before this could happen, Lalisa grabbed the pitcher away from Jeongguk's grasp.

Jeongguk snapped out of his thoughts and glanced at Lalisa, now raising her eyebrows at him. "So, how did Mrs. Jo know?" she asked him, curious.

He just looked at her, suddenly seeing her as one big mystery. This woman . . . he thought that she was just passing by that night that they met. He thought that he'd never see her again afterward and that their paths would never cross again.

However, now that he saw her right before his very eyes fascinated him. As cheesy as it sounds, maybe wishing upon shooting stars is real?

He remembered it oh–so–clearly. Naked bodies clasping against each other on the softest mattress he ever laid on. Her delicate hands were intertwined with his, her slender arms wrapping around his chest. Her blonde hair was disheveled, and her doe eyes closed, inhaling her intoxicating scent as she snuggled her face onto his neck.

She was sound asleep that night after having one of the most mind-boggling sex he ever had. It was not erotic or kinky. It was rather subtle and intimate — as if they were real lovers.

Then again, maybe because they were both dwelling on their heartbreaks at that time, maybe they were just delicately naïve. He was still awake around 2 AM, arm wrapping around her petite waist as he pulled her closer and sighed.

He glanced at the window, just to see a shooting star coincidentally passing by. He looked at her, then back onto the sky, closing his eyes as he made a wish.

It really came true. That's all he thought as he stared at Lalisa, who was now snapping her fingers in front of him. He wasn't even thinking about the fact that she hid being a lawyer at a prestigious law firm in Seoul from him — he was just thinking of . . . apparently, just her.

No way, Jeongguk thought. This couldn't be.

"Hey, how did Mrs. Jo know?" Lalisa continued asking.

"Why don't you go to sleep?" Jeongguk suggests.

Lalisa began to pout, taking the pitcher of water and putting it in the refrigerator. "You didn't even answer my question."

"Jimin and Chaeyoung are coming over tomorrow," Jeongguk informs her, taking his uniform off.

Lalisa raises both of her eyebrows. "Ooh," she began to tease, "better make sure your eyes won't be glued onto your Chaeyoung." She wiggles her eyebrows at him.

Jeongguk, for some reason, started to feel annoyed at that tease from her. And so, his forehead creased as he subtly shook his head. "I suppose I won't."

"C'mon, I'm sure you missed her somehow!" Lalisa giggled. "I miss my best friend, too. I'm sure you miss her."

Jeongguk stopped on the spot, turning towards her as he rested his palms on his waist. "That best friend . . . is that the one you told me about when we first met?" he asks her.

Lalisa smiles at him as she points her index finger. "Ooh, you remember something I said from a long time ago? You really do have a crush on me!" she beams.

Jeongguk rolls his eyes. "I'm a cop. I remember most things," he reasons. "Plus, it's not like it's been that long."

"Just kidding," she giggles. "But yeah, it's that best friend I told you about."

"What's his name?"

"Why're you suddenly curious?"

Jeongguk halts and shakes his head, putting his uniform aside. "Don't get too flimsy about it. I was just asking."
