Jeongguk wakes up after hearing a glass shattering. He immediately jolted up, almost sitting up straight and woozy as he forced himself to exit his room.

There, while clearing up his vision, his eyes squinted, almost cursing out loud upon seeing Lalisa bending down on the floor with a broom and dustpan in each of her hands.

His eyes widened upon seeing all the shards of glass scattered on the floor, immediately and carefully making way towards Lalisa, and gently pushed her aside.

Of course, he still keeps in mind that she's pregnant. "I–I'm sorry, I was trying to make breakfast for you——"

"Just move aside. Let me take care of this," Jeongguk grunts as he cleans up.

Lalisa, who felt extremely embarrassed and guilty, bit her bottom lip and began to contemplate how she should make it up to him. "I'll . . . I'll just buy you a new plate."

Jeongguk halts, glaring at her. "How? Do you have money?"

Lalisa pouts at him. "I have . . . some savings."

"Thought so," he bluntly tells her and continues to clean up. "Don't use up all your savings. You should remember that you have a child to raise."

"We have a child to raise——"

"How many times do I have to tell you?" Jeongguk glares at her. "Sure, I admit, I remember what happened to us. But how are we sure that that child is mine?"

Lalisa pouts even more. "It's yours, I swear! You can take a paternity test to prove it——!"

"Until then, I am not concretely associated with you and your child, got it?" he tells her and finishes cleaning the large shards, carefully throwing them into the trash bin.

He glances at Lalisa's feet, noticing that she is barefooted. He rolls his eyes, forcing himself to stand up and grab some extra slippers for her to wear. Jeongguk drops the slippers on the ground, just in front of Lalisa's feet, and looks at her bluntly.

"Wear it," he tells her.

Not waiting for a reply, he cleans all the shards up and then heads to the bathroom, not sparing a glance at Lalisa.

Meanwhile, Lalisa sits on the couch, pursing her lips as she contemplates how to make it up to him. She just tried to cook (which she didn't know how to do) in hopes that she'd at least earn a good impression on him.

However, she failed miserably when she accidentally broke a plate. There goes her chance to make him a decent breakfast, at least. She patiently waits there, craning her neck to see if Jungkook is already done bathing or not.

After fifteen minutes, Jungkook went to the bathroom, already in his police uniform. Lalisa's brows furrowed, not remembering if Jungkook had brought his uniform inside the bathroom with him, so she was shocked to see him.

A man in a uniform never fails to make her heart flutter.

However, don't get her wrong — she doesn't like Jungkook; she just wants her child to have a father.

"You," Jungkook calls her, causing Lalisa to lift her eyebrows. "I have a few snacks in the fridge. You already know my friends, right?" he asks her.

Lalisa nods, doe eyes attentively darting onto his hands, who reached to take his phone. He grabbed a sheet of paper from the corner and started to write something on it. There, he handed her the paper, which she quickly accepted.

"If you need anything, just contact them. They'll be glad to help since you're my girlfriend."

Lalisa purses her lips, reading the list of his friends' numbers. "Question!" Lalisa cutely raises her hand, causing Jungkook to arch an eyebrow at her. "Who's Taehyung?" Lalisa also points at another unfamiliar name. "And, uh, Mingyu?"
