A/N: Y'all listen to the media above, it's one of Vincenzo's OSTs, and I couldn't help but also remember Lalisa with it. In my own interpretation, it's like Vincenzo's message to Cha-young. In this book, it's Lalisa's message to Jeongguk.

Anyway, here's another update!

Oh, and a little 'spoiler' note :
Betrayals are inevitable.

"I love you, that's why."

Lalisa froze on the spot. She was aware of Jeongguk liking her, but loving her?

Someone loves me? Lalisa was lost in thought. And that someone is . . . Jeongguk?

Jeongguk wrapped his arms around Lalisa and pulled her into an embrace. He began to dig his face into the crook of her neck and sighed. "You two are the only things I'm sure of in all of my uncertainties. Don't . . . don't think about aborting, I beg you . . ."

"I won't." Lalisa hugged him back, digging her face into his chest. "I'm sorry, I won't." Lalisa slowly escaped the embrace afterward, looking up to Jeongguk, who seemed defeated and weary. "Kun, he isn't who you think he is."

Jeongguk, upon hearing her mention his name, looked at her attentively. "Elaborate."

"He may be my fiancé once, but we don't like each other, okay? We're friends. I need to go to Seoul to talk to him in person. He never asks for me to meet him like this if it wasn't important."

Jeongguk chuckled to himself. "You are dangerous after all," he says and looks up, taking a deep breath before he looks at her once more, "I guess I'll be taking the risk then." He faintly smiled at her.

"I want you to know I always have a plan," Lalisa reassures him.

"I know," Jeongguk nods. "You must think that I'm such a weak-ass for being like this and——"

"It just shows how human you are, Guk," she tells him with a subtle smile. "I can be super annoying. I say and do what I want. People even call me a sociopath because of it but rest assured, I am not." She sighs deeply. "But right now, I can't just do what I want." She rubs her tummy. "I won't act impulsively, I can assure you that."

Jeongguk pats Lalisa's head and smiles at her — a genuine smile. "Do you need to go to Seoul?"

"I . . ." Lalisa sighs. "I need to, Guk. I don't know how many times I have said this, but please, understand me——"

"I don't know how often I've said this as well, but I told you, I do. I understand." He looks at her, thinking how much he would do just for her. "In return, I hope you also understand where I'm coming from. You need to understand other people, too. It's not always gonna be centered on people understanding you," he lectured her.

Lalisa nodded, feeling her knees grow feeble, so she sat on the bed. "I . . . okay." She had nothing else to say — he was right. "You're just worried for me and the baby, I know."

"You can go to Seoul," he tells her, "but I do have one condition."

"Whatever it is, okay," she accepts it immediately. "I just have a question, though . . ." she reluctantly says. "Earlier, a–about saying that you love me . . . do you mean it?" She cleared her throat, growing embarrassed at her question.

"Why? Are you gonna reject me again?" Jeongguk tries to joke. "I think being rejected after saying I love you hurts even more than saying I like you." He shrugs.
