Lalisa woke up the next morning just to find Jeongguk sleeping in the corner of the hospital bed. Seokjin oppa promised that he would let me out earlier, Lalisa rolled her eyes at the thought.
She then started to rub her tummy, starting to feel starving. After what she and Jeongguk talked about, she was uncertain how to act around him now. She knows that she said they should go back to how they used to be, but with that absurd thought that Bambam implanted in her brain, she's uncertain if she can view Jeongguk the same way again.
Jeongguk slowly began to wake up, rubbing his eyes just to find her already awake. "Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?" he immediately asks her, knowing her appetite in the morning.
Lalisa bit her lower lip, glancing in Hoseok's direction from last night. He was still there, along with Namjoon and Yoongi, sleeping soundly beside him. She just wanted to make sure that Hoseok was safe. He's Jeongguk's friend, so in a way, she should look after him, too.
"Don't you have work?" Lalisa asks him, changing the topic despite her starvation.
Jeongguk didn't answer her and grabbed his wallet and keys instead. "Wait here, I'll buy some fruits," he told her.
"You should just go to work," she tells her, hoping to have some time off from him. She figures that she needs some distance to settle whatever thoughts she has in regard to him.
"Do you want any drinks?" Jeongguk asks her, still ignoring her topic regarding his job.
"Are you just gonna leave Jimin oppa there with all the work?" Lalisa grunts, almost desperate for him to leave her alone just this once.
Jeongguk sighs, massaging his temples. "I know you're trying to get rid of me, but it won't be that easy," he straightforwardly tells her. She was caught off guard, not expecting him to know. "I refuse to go back to the way we used to be."
"I thought we agreed——"
"I never agreed, Lalisa." He then sighs and looks directly into her eyes. "I've decided to continue this. Just let me through, and I'll hold those walls up with you."
Does he like me? Lalisa thought, finding that thought of her obnoxious. It can't be. He's the one who told me that we can't have any personal attachments.
"Why are you being like this?" Lalisa asks in distraught.
Jeongguk simply shrugged. "I wanna find out, too." He then leaned in and rubbed her tummy. "Daddy will be back," he mumbled and set off to buy some food.
Lalisa sat there, contemplating whether he should confront him about the real deal between them. Should she ask him if he likes her? Or would she come off too conceited?
Just then, Lalisa's phone began to ring, and she picked it up immediately. "Hello, Bam?"
"Hey Lali, I have good news. I'm coming home sooner than the soon we all thought. I'm returning next week!"
Excited.
That's what Lalisa should've felt. However, her face was fully blank. Thanks to him, her thoughts have been more clouded by Jeon Jeongguk ever since yesterday, and she doesn't know if it's still healthy at this point.
"That's great, Bam!" She tried her best to act enthusiastic about it.
Bambam laughed from the other line. "I'm so excited to see you all again! Especially you, Lali!"
"Awe, thank you, Bammie," she told him. "Bam, I have a question to ask . . ."
"Spill."
"You know when you told me that I might like Jeongguk?" she started off. He heard him mumble from the other line, indicating that she should continue. "Why do you think so? You haven't even met him."
