Lalisa and Mingyu started to look at each other once he left. "Are you sure he's not jealous?" Mingyu arches an eyebrow.
The female quickly shook her head and beamed a smile. "Trust me, when it comes to me, he would never get jealous."
Mingyu wiggled his eyebrows at Lalisa. "Ooh, a healthy relationship with trust as your foundation, eh? Now I'm getting envious!" Mingyu faked a sob.
Lalisa just smiled at Mingyu and watched as he continued to cook. She then remembers her series of nausea earlier and thought that she should visit the doctor soon. She'll inquire about Jeongguk's paternity test as soon as possible, too.
Just then, she heard someone knocking on the door. "I'll get it," Mingyu says as he is about to take his apron off, but Lalisa quickly stands up and shakes her head. She motioned him that she'd get it, and so Mingyu just shrugged and nodded.
She opened the door, just to be invited by . . .
"Why are you here?" Lalisa's eyes widened.
"Why are you here?"
Lalisa looked around, then snapped her gaze behind her. "Mingyu-ssi! I just need to buy something from the convenience store!"
Before Mingyu could reply, Lalisa quickly left and shut the door.
Lalisa looked at her grumpily, her eyes piercing against hers. "Let's go somewhere else, we can't be here, Jennie-ssi."
"Jennie-ssi," Jennie scoffed. She then looked at Jeongguk's house and then back at Lalisa. "You can't keep hiding from us forever, Lalisa. We'll all find you sooner or later."
Lalisa rolled her eyes, "Alright, alright. Let's go. Jeongguk can't see you."
Jennie sighed and pointed at the car parked across the street. "I brought Taehyung along with me."
Taehyung . . . Lalisa stopped for a moment, thinking. Could it possibly be that Taehyung, Jeongguk's friend, is the same as Kim Taehyung, the prosecutor she works with back in Seoul? Plus, Kim Jennie's friend.
"You still don't call him oppa," Lalisa comments as she follows Jennie to the car.
Jennie just shrugged and carried on walking. There, Taehyung got out of the car and opened the door for Lalisa. Jennie groaned at his gentleman-ish action for her. She's well aware of Taehyung's crush on Lalisa, and it's been going on for a year now.
And just over a week ago, when Taehyung found out that Lalisa's pregnant with Jeongguk — his own friend — truly crushed his heart. Okay, but not too much. He wasn't in love with her of some sort. She just finds her beauty and wits attractive.
That's why Taehyung didn't attend when Jeongguk invited him over because it was the same day that Lalisa went missing. He and Jennie knew that she set off to find Jeongguk.
She and Taehyung have been best friends ever since they were in high school, and Lalisa followed along when she met her in law school. Mhm, Kim Jennie is also a lawyer back in Seoul.
Once they were all inside the car, Taehyung began to drive. They have no specific place to go to. They just really needed to talk. "Why did you quit your job like that? Lalisa, you're the ace of the law industry in Seoul, and you gave up on all that because you're pregnant?" Jennie began to scold.
Lalisa rolled her eyes. "My pregnancy is a big deal to me," she reasons and crosses her arms.
"Jennie, don't yell at her," Taehyung calmly said whilst driving, peeking at them from the rear mirror.
