The sound of door opening had alerted Callahan. He knew no one could dare to open that door. Except for maybe Margret who keep trying to barge into his personal space. But she isn't here, he made sure that she stayed away until Avni is here with him.

Avni, yes, she always had showed the courage to break through any wall he might just put in front of her. This time he is the one who is trying to knock her walls down, but he too doesn't know how successful he actually is in that.

He is trying his best though to understand her situation but everything he does doesn't helps at all. He still is very much failing in his task. "Your highness? Are you there?" His heart begins to beat faster and faster. He didn't know what to do other than to stand still like a statue and let her find him.

"I came to check up on you because you didn't shown up for dinner, if you are busy just say the word and I would leave" Avni announce afraid of what she would found and then her eyes got on to the fireplace there it was her portrait that he had done staring back at her. She gasped thinking why he would do that when suddenly someone pulled her to them.

She tried to scream when the person put his hand over her mouth preventing him from screaming. She turned around and looked into those blue eyes. "Welcome home Princess, I was waiting for you, for so long" He said finally finding his voice.

Avni gasped seeing him, his eyes lost its shine, his hairs grow longer, his cheekbones became predominant over his face. He seems to lost weight too. "you still look so radiant, just like I remember you to be. Just like I have painted you on the canvas." He whispered touching her face. Avni closed her eyes. She doesn't resent him; she was not angry at him. He was suffering she can see.

"You are really here; you are really with me." Avni's eyes watered seeing him in this condition. "Yes, I am your highness. I am here for Christmas and the wedding." He pulled back and she opened her eyes. "And I suppose you have brought your own escort for that?" He asked angrily. "What do you mean?" She asked.

"It is not like I can go to your wedding with Miss Bellatrix Lestrange with you. Can I?" He pulled her closer placing her hand over his chest. "no, I suppose you cannot, but for the other things? Like tomorrow for my sister's birthday ball, are you going to take him as your date?" He asked not able to take it anymore that he has to watch her with someone else. Someone else who is not him. "I haven't decided yet. And that was not why I am here, can you let go of me now?" She asked politely.

"No, I am not going to let go of you Princess. I have lost so much time of your life; I refuse to lose another moment for anything." He told her. "But you cannot just keep me here, I have a life to live" She protested. "you have a life with me. I even located doctors who can treat you, I have contacted them, I have my own doctors working on a cure day and night. Why do you think I am doing all this?" He asked.

She tried to pull back but she couldn't get out of his steel like grip. "You shouldn't Your highness, dwelling on the past will do you no good. You should look at your future." He left her hand and walked towards the window looking at the vast nothingness in front of him.

"I am looking at my future Princess, a future in which I am planning to have you by my side. And if you think that marrying Margret can make me forget you, then you are very wrong. I am a king and I can change rule, as of now I can change any rule I like as long as I have vote of another member of the royal family. It is always been this way. Also, the letter says I have to marry Margret, not this that I have to crown her queen, or that I have to stay married to her." Avni wasn't sure that it was a very good idea to play with Margret or her father Louie's intentions.

And she doesn't know if he would be able to get out once he is in. She wanted to tell him the same but the optimism in his voice was too much to ignore. She didn't have a heart to say anything else otherwise. She cannot just tell him that his plans might not work for her and him. That he might never get to be with her ever again.
