Callahan helped her up into the cart. "Ready for the stolen carriage ride Princess?" he asked. She cannot believe that he did that, he had stolen a cart from a traveller filled with goods he must have been carrying to sell, or deliver.
"Why you stole the cart? You could have asked nicely; it would have worked too." Callahan frowned. "Sometimes Avni I hope you don't feel that everyone is worth saving. It is not like that. Not everyone is good at heart." Callahan said. "Not even you? I thought you have different thoughts Prince Callahan right after I tried my best to make you smile." Callahan sighed.
"You are too good to be true sometimes Avni and that is what scares me," He thought. "So, I see you do not approve my ways Miss Avni, don't worry you will see soon that I meant no harm to my own subjects" He pulled the reins and the cart moved towards the city. Callahan left the cart in front of the building. And then got down helping her down as well.
"So, here it is Princess, now let's go and meet some of your future subjects, how would you like that?" He asked. "Very, thank you." Avni felt his hand gripping hers and his fingers lacing slowly into hers. He is doing this quiet a lot lately and she have no idea why he was doing that.
"It is colder than your country probably that is why you are feeling this much discomfort. I know, something that might warm you up. Let me take you to a very special place." And he broke into a run with her on toe. "Wait up" She said. "Come on it is not far from here Princess, and I know you are going to enjoy this one so much" He said and made it faster towards it.
Avni was out of breath by the time they reached to the place. It was a candy store filled with sweets, any kind a kid or an adult can imagine. Avni looked at it wide eyed. "This place is colourful" She managed to say. "It is isn't it?" He grinned.
"But it is not just that, it is Sifi's favourite, she used to take me here at least once in a week." And then his voice faltered. Why he stopped? He doesn't spend time with his little sister as much as he should have. But he is now understanding how important it was for Serafina to bond with him. He was the only playmate she had for years to come. And now he had the same condition with the newfound princess.
He is the only ally she has in middle of the strangers. And the way Margret is bent on harming her, she needs him more than he can ever need her. That is a kind of truth he knows. "What is it?" she asked looking at his sulked form. "Old memories, just something I forgot I loved doing." He told her but still haven't let go of her hand.
"Come on in, you are going to love this place." She nodded and walked in after him. Inside it was much more beautiful than it seems from the outside. The chocolate fountain laden in middle of the store. And all around it is just colours and sweet-smelling delicious goodies. "So, are we here for candies?" She asked confused.
"No, something else. Something this place is known for." He took her towards the counter. "two hot chocolate please and add some marshmallows when you are at it." Avni smiled politely at that. Callahan can easily be the angry customer no one wants to deal with. "Coming up in ten why don't you go and wait there for it sir?" The server point to the table.
"See I want it now and I am..." Avni squeezed his hand. And he looked at him. She shook her head. "We will wait thank you." She said politely. "You must learn something from your girlfriend sir, sometimes I think there can never be more rude people around who are worse than our Prince but then I meet people like you, who changes my opinion instantly" Avni pulled him away and they sat on the table.
"See I told you not everyone is worth saving at all." He looked at the man annoyed. "I care for these people who portray me as a villain, see for yourself Princess" He whispered outraged.
