A Princess For Christmas (Of The Dreams We Seek)

Forty- Four

Next day the sun rose too much sooner. He didn't like it at all. He wanted so hard to make the time stop but alas it is the thing he have no control over. He cannot control the timing. He was losing it from his hands. And there is no telling how it is going to end up eventually. There was no telling where this will take him.

 But he was willing to follow this path. It is the only path in front of him that lead to her now. He just wishes that she too understands that it is her who he wanted the most in his life. He doesn't need a throne or a crown to be happy, he can be happy without all the things but her. He saw her sleeping form and covered her properly.

 She had somehow become a habit. A habit he does not wish to change for anything. "Sleep tight my princess." He whispered and got out of the tower and opened the doors to his room. In front of him was Louie. "so, your highness is finally awake, you had good night sleep I hope?" Callahan's mood darkened; he was the last person he wished to see today. 

"I am not obligated to answer you that Louie. Why are you disturbing me in the morning?" Callahan asked icily. "Just came to remind you that you shall go for the fitting of your tux and cake testing, my daughter will be waiting for you outside the castle gates, as you had forbidden her from coming inside till the day of your wedding." Callahan didn't look at him. 

"I do not have time for that, Louie if she wants to, she can go by herself, and if you too like to receive the same treatment then be my guest Louie. I have work to do" He looked at Callahan. "Listen boy, you will think twice before crossing me, if King Richard was here, he would have supported this union. You have no choice but to marry my daughter. And before insulting me you should consider my position in your life; I am your future father- in- law. And you will not insult me" Callahan chuckled dryly. 

"Then also, I will have only one relationship with you. I am your king and I only give the orders you follow. Like it or not that is only thing I am very much concerned with." Callahan said. "Tell your daughter that I am not coming and she cannot make me after the stunt she pulled with my sister." With that he closed the door on his face. Louie gritted his teeth 

"Just one more day boy and then I will show you exactly what position do I hold in your life. And knowing that, there will be nothing you can do about it." He said walking towards the gates of the castle.

Avni woke up and found the covers on her with no one around and she thought was it Callahan, who had covered her? Did she fall asleep in his arms once again? She had to stop doing this otherwise she can never convince him to let her go and she needs to walk away from all this. He is going to marry Margret and right now that is the only truth she can see. 

She does not wish to get caught in the middle of it all. And beside she was invited into the Christmas ball. She can always go with Avi can't she? Because she does not expect Margret to let her come anywhere near Callahan once she was married to him. But then again, Callahan never was made to be caged by anyone, he is a free soul. 

And he has his own opinions. She just wishes that he gets to express them, otherwise he will suffocate. That is not what she had wished to do at all. As she stood up and walked towards her room. She fell back on her back feeling a headache creeping in. She thought maybe some sleep would help but no matter what she does she cannot just get herself to sleep. 

All those things that were happen around her from past few days were something that floating in her mind. She felt someone's hand over her head and she saw Callahan sitting beside him. "Are you feeling ok?" He asked. "Just little headache. Nothing much," She told him. "was it because you forgot your medication trying to care for me? why Avni, you know right you mustn't miss any of those medication? Why don't you care about yourself?" He asked.
