Avni stood on the threshold of the stairs and she begin to panic. "I cannot do this Callahan, maybe we can come back in a decade, or maybe a century?" Callahan didn't let go. "This is not how you actually leave your comrade alone in the battle field and this is the first one in your life cadet Avni." She looked at him wide eyed
"Don't tell me you spend your free time from the royal duties in watching the movie involving military, navy and air force." He chuckled dryly. "We have enough of it here, some you can see tomorrow, I just love to play strategy games. And yes, those are based on these and more." Avni shook her head.
"I have to talk to your mother and ask her to allocate the time you can spend on video games, before they destroy your brain." He looked away smiling. "Hold my arm Princess, it is our time to be introduced." Avni took a deep breath holing his arm. "Princess Avni and Crown Prince Callahan of WinterDell.
"Smile and wave Princess, this is your audience. You want to look good for them, remember first impressions are very important." She smiled and waved. "Oh, they are?" She asked. "Yes Very" Callahan replied. "If it was then how am I here holding your hand?" She asked. "The first impression hasn't changed much Princess, then too you were willingly falling into my arms, now too you are in my arms." Avni pressed his heal on his foot and then pressed it.
He felt the pain surge through him. His hold falters a bit. "Sorry it was an accident." Avni whispered making Callahan roll his eyes at her. "Sure, if it comes to you, you will make sure I be incapable of Dancing Princess Avni." He took her to his mother.
"Mother" He called and the queen looked at them. "You made it son, Avni Dear, it is your ball everyone is waiting why don't you both open the ball?" The Queen asked. "As your wish, your highness" Avni said.
Callahan laid her to the dance floor in the middle of the ball room. Avni saw Margret was glaring at her. "Nine o'clock Bellatrix is ready to pull a curse on me. I think it is not a normal curse that will make me freeze." Callahan pulled her closer.
"It is because never it had happened that I had opened a ball with someone else. It was always her. She cannot take it very well, but don't worry I have a reverse curse ready just in case." It made Avni grinned. "Now do I have to keep you away from the magic books as well my dear Warlock?" He just grinned in response.
He slowly moved to the music, leading her in. She followed his lead and anyone who have seen them now could have told that they were perfectly in sync with each other They were aware of each other's feelings. The song ended they broke apart and bowed and curtsied. He went towards her mother
"Mother, may I?" The Queen smiled seeing the signs of the old Callahan returning to him. "You are a very naughty boy Callahan." She accepted and he laid her to the dance floor but his eyes remained on the guest of honor today. She saw Philip was dancing with her. "She looks beautiful today and happy. Maybe bringing her here wasn't a bad decision at all" Callahan said. The Queen looked at him
"No, it wasn't Callahan. I knew you would say this, but you would say this, this sooner? It is quiet remarkable what little positivity can do for some people." Callahan agreed with her. And hoped that his positivity was enough to save the Princess. They both saw as the Prime Minister approached her.
The Queen looked at Callahan and they both had the same expression on their face distrust. "I better go and see if Avni needs me Mother if you excuse me." But before he can reach her Margret held him.
"I think you owe me a dance Prince Callahan, Princess Avni is busy with my father, he is just giving her few lessons in how to be a royal, since she is new to this." He knew something was wrong because Avni's expression turned grim all of a sudden. But Callahan was very helpless because he cannot reach her on time. But he saw Philip from the corner of his eyes and gestured her to reach Avni. Thankfully he noticed and followed through.
