She held out the sugar cube looking away from him. He stopped sniffing the treat. No one moved even a bit they watched as he took it and ran away again. Callahan walked towards the fence jumping in but as he tried to reach her, the horse came up running stopping him from reaching to her.
And then he circled her again and again not letting her leave. Avni was petrified she didn't know what to do. "Avni don't move, I am coming to get you." Callahan said. "No, don't I don't know why but I think he wants something from me. I think he wants that apple in the tree." Avni said walking towards the tree. The horse stopped observing her.
"So, you want that?" She asked. And then she climbed the tree picking it up. On her way down her foot slipped and she started to fall. But it never came someone caught her in time. She opened her eyes and saw Callahan was holding her. "As I said you have an awful habit of falling into my arms." He said.
And then she looked at the horse who wasn't running, he was just standing there looking at them. Avni got down and walked towards the horse holding up the ripe red apple. "Here, do you promise not to hurt any more people?" She asked. The horse took it from her and leaned his face against her to everyone's amazement.
"Good boy, I think I should give you a name. what should it be?" She asked. "Zeus? Because he is strong and powerful?" Callahan suggested as he tried to touch him, he moved back. "He doesn't like you or that name my not so charming prince." Avni told him.
"I can see that very well." Callahan said. "I think I will call you Poseidon after the good of sea, you are graceful and strong just like the sea. Do you like that name?" The horse leapt up and started running around again. "I think he likes you" Callahan said. "Oh, he does? Didn't you say I am the charming one?" She asked.
"Yes, that you are my Princess, let's go now, we have to do so much, the ball is in two days from now. And you can meet your new found friend after you get your dresses done. And then there is the press meeting tomorrow, we are opening up the Children's home finally. Aren't you excited?" Callahan asked securing the door thinking how she got in at all in the first place.
It wasn't supposed to be opened ajar like that and how did she managed to lock herself in too? That too wasn't suppose to happen. Could it be that maybe someone was after her and he intend to find out who is that person.
Callahan was waiting for the limo just when the Prime Minister arrived. He hasn't seen him in a while. Nor he had seen Margret. "I heard Princess Avni had another accident, poor child going to die before her days are through if she keeps getting hurt like this." Callahan turned towards him and said "She will not like I have protected her always; I will protect her forever."
The Limo stopped in front of Callahan. "Prince confidence is good however; overconfidence can be very deadly" That was the last words he heard before getting inside the Limo and he didn't like it a bit, not a bit. But as soon as he saw Avni he forgot all his worries. Her smile was the only thing that mattered at that point of time. He got out.
"You look so beautiful, so are you ready to do your first act as a Princess of WinterDell?" Callahan asked excitedly. "As ready as I can ever be my not so charming Prince" came the reply. "Then your carriage ride awaits" She made a scowling face.
"It's a Limo not a carriage with a horse" Callahan laughed "You are so behaving like a spoilt Princess, your highness. And I am still aiming for horse power that is all I need in a royal carriage or any carriage that is." He said.
"As you say your highness, I do believe that Carriage ride include magical carriages made out of pumpkins and rats and other animals as horses and driver and guards. If you do not know, why don't you ask Serafina?" She asked getting in.
