He pulled back and leaned his forehead against hers. "See I have your first kiss, you cannot complain, I kept my promise. I told you, right do you remember Princess, that night in India, do you remember?" She nodded.
Callahan stood up and walked out in the snow, it was still snowing so he took out some wood from the little room they used to store woods and other tools. He was planning to take her here on twenty- fourth and celebrate Christmas, just two of them, him and her.
But since he cannot now, he thought all of it would have been to waste but then god had different plans for him. He was glad that he did have something different planned today. He walked in to see Avni was setting up the lights on the tree.
"Is it good?" She asked. "Beautiful Princess, and they call me the artist, they should look at you, you have power to bring out the magic in ordinary thing." She blushed as he placed the firewood down.
"Now all I need is a wand, and I would be ready to cast the spell my not so charming prince." She said making him smile too. For tonight they wished to forget everything that was about to happen to them. They forgot that after tomorrow they may never can spend time together like this without having backlashes from his to be wife.
But that was for tomorrow, tonight it was not a problem. Tonight, it was something very much magical in the air. He placed the firewood in the fireplace and held her hand "Cast the spell my little enchantress." He said giving her the lighter.
"Lumos," Avni said making him laugh as she placed the lighter over the kindling. "See you did good, now you are ready to be accepted into the Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry." He said taking the lighter from her hand. And then he placed something over the couch.
"Here we go our makeshift bed is ready." He said. "I can see why Margret wants you, you are so attentive, so caring, you will be a good husband." She said. He settled down beside her. "Am I not now Princess?" The question taken her by surprise.
"What you mean by that my Prince?" She asked. He stood up and said "Let me see if that idiot stocked any food in here." She held his arm preventing him from walking away and avoiding her question.
"What do you mean Callahan by that?" She asked softly. "Please tell me, after tomorrow I might not be able to know at all. I do not want that." She whispered. He looked at her with unreadable expression and then something flashed in his eyes, he was filled with regrets.
He sat down beside her and then pulled her in his lap covering her. So that her back was against his chest. "Princess, when you said that you may never had chance to figure out how it was like to be someone's wife I thought, maybe I can fulfil that wish of yours. But before I can all the things just fell apart. And I was unable to do anything at all." He paused holding her hand and stroking the back of her palm with his thumb.
"But then you came back, it was like some miracle happening to me. Day and night, I just wished that you come back to me. Day and night, I wished that I can have you next to me, so that I could tell you how much you mean to me, so that I could tell you, how much lonely I feel without you. So that I could say how much I..."
"What? What is it?" She asked as he paused in middle of the sentence. "Nothing, just nothing Princess, so when you came back, I decided that I would let you know that how being wife felt like and I am trying to do just that show you, that even if everyone left you alone, I won't. When you fall ill, I will sit by your side all day and all night, when you cannot fall asleep, I will make you sleep." She smiled looking at him.
"I will fulfil your every little wish. Even if I am busy when you call, I will come, that held no exception I will close my court but never will ever keep you from my company. I will share my happy moments, my sad moments and my vulnerable moments with you." He whispered the last part.
