She looked at it again as said "Maybe Sifi, maybe I can fulfil more than just one wish, maybe I too can get what I want the most, my friendship with your brother back as it was" Avni said to herself placing the form neatly into the envelope which needed to be sent to the people who make it all work and hopefully it will all work exactly as she wishes for it to be.
And now all she has to do was to post this application and prey for it to fall in the right hands so, she can actually go and see Serafina for one last time and maybe knock some sense into Callahan once again?
But all of it will happen if they approve, approval from both the sides are needed. Even if she was cleared from this end, would royals ever going to let her into their kingdom? Wasn't the wish she was asking for was too much?
And now there was this cloud of uncertainty was all over her head. She didn't know if she was ever going to get this particular wish all of it now depended on her family and the royal family. Hers she can vouch for, theirs not so much.
Especially not with Callahan's alter ego again gotten back into its place. She fell back on her bed not trying to think what everyone will do when they finally got to look at her request? When they opened the letter and see what she ha requested for and they will read it in front of everyone?
What would be everyone's reaction? She didn't want to become a laughing stock, but she had done it, now there is no going back at all. She decided that she will face whatever comes in her way now, no going back at all.
Next morning, the letters were opened and then they are read one by one. An then hers came too. She was present there ready for the verdict to be delivered. "This one wants to be a princess, bring on the tiara and the gown, ready the staff and the makeshift court" The man said and everyone laughed.
"Like it would be that easy, who this idiot is?" And then they finally looked at the name. "Avni?" All of them fell silent. "So this is how you treat people's wishes, like some jokes?" Avni asked.
"What you think they are things you can laugh about? These people have sentimental values attached to their wishes, that would probably the last thing they will do before they die, or maybe last piece that can bring them smile. For example, I have filled in a request for a boy to travel to France, so that he can see his first love and reconcile of his mistakes, because he knew it was the last time he can ever manage to apologize to her, and make her feel less guilty about not knowing why he left." She said.
"A little girl wanted to go to Disney land so that she can spend sometime with her mother and father because she thought she is the reason why they do not get to spend time with each other anymore." She laughed.
"This place gives people hope, and this is how you treat it. You don't deserve to be here, you may not fulfil their every request but maybe you can show some respect." She turned around to leave but then she stopped and said
"Yes, I want to be a princess, a real one, that is what every girl wants to be once in their life, to feel in control, maybe everything might be falling apart but in our heads we still can rule our own kingdom, defeat our darkness, you people don't deserve to take that one chance away from us. You all should be ashamed of yourselves."
She walked out in the open laughing and then crying all of a sudden. She knew what was going to happen still she hoped didn't she? Against everything she dared to hope. But what was she think will happen?
Today she saw the true nature of the people who are promising to fulfil their only dying wish. She cannot take it anymore and fell on the ground as the tears escaped her eyes. Maybe she is not as strong as everyone think her to be.
