"We have to find your dress today before it's too late" Anna says as she looks through a rack of dresses.

Anna dragged me to the mall today because prom is next week and I still don't have a dress. I gave in and decided to go to my prom but Mason said he didn't want to go to his so it was a win win situation.

"Do you know what color you want to wear? Or if you want a long or short dress?" Anna questions.

I shrug my shoulders. "I don't really know I haven't thought about it"

"Red, blue, silver, gold, purple...so many colors to chose from" she says continuing to search through the racks.

"Maybe blue" I say. It's the only other color I actually like besides black...and grey.

"Okay well lets look over there, that's where most of the blue dresses are"

We walk over to the rack with blue dresses on it and begin looking.

"What about this one?" Anna says after a few minutes.

She pulls out a ice blue dress. It's off the shoulder with beading along the neckline and a silver beaded belt at the waist. It's a floor-length dress made of tulle material and the sleeves are made of tulle as well but it's see-through.

"Anna it's very beautiful but I don't think it would look right on me" I sigh

"Well at least try it on" she pleads. "You will look so pretty I know it!"

I let out a deep breath but take the dress from her anyways and walk towards the dressing room. She squeals and follows close behind me.

I don't hate the dress when I put it on, but it's definitely out of my comfort zone and nothing I would have picked out myself.

I walk out so that Anna can see and her face immediately lights up.

"It's perfect! You look amazing! Right out of a fairytale" she gushes and gives me a tight hug. "Do you like it?"

"It isn't too much?" I ask turning around to look in the mirror.

"No of course not, and you know what? Mason is going to love it" she smiles.

"Okay" I nod with a small smile. She gives me another smile and then I go to take off the dress so that I can pay for it.

Anna and I walk around the mall for a bit more before we decide to get something to eat. She gets in line for a Chinese place and I get in line for Subway.

"We have to stop hanging out at the same places" I hear a voice say next to me.

I look over to see Luke with his group of friends not far behind him.

"Hey Luke, how are you?" I say giving him a quick side hug.

"I'm alright, what about you" he asks stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"Good just out with Anna getting my prom dress" we move up one spot in the line.

"Right because my next question was gonna be are you out getting your prom dress with Anna" he says sarcastically.

"Shut up" I laugh nudging him in his side with my elbow.

"I'm just kidding" he chuckles as we move up another spot.

"So are you going to prom?" I ask glancing over at him.

"Yeah my friends and I are going together. Should be fun"

I nod my head. "Yeah I'm going with my friends too and Mason of course"

I don't know why but sometimes I feel the need to work his name into the conversation. Maybe it's because I feel guilty about being Lukes friend behind his back.
