The weekend comes and goes and just like that, its Monday again. I get dressed in a random t-shirt and jeans. I put on a light blue jacket and zip it up all the way. I then put on some white sneakers and grab my bag head downstairs for breakfast.
"Hey, it's just us for breakfast. Parents both had to go to the hospital early today" Noah says when I walk into the kitchen.
"Oh okay" I sit on the barstool and grab an orange.
"I can't really cook but do you want some cereal?" Noah asks holding up a box of captain crunch.
I nod my head and he pulls out two bowls and almond milk. Turns out they don't drink regular milk either. Not because they are allergic like I am, but I guess it's just their preference. Almond milk is delicious I've had at least a cup everyday.
"Oh before I forget" Noah says as he finishes his second bowl of cereal. I had two as well. Breakfasts foods are now my favorites besides the mashed potatoes I had my first night here.
He hands me a debit card. "What's this for?" I ask before accepting it. I don't have any money to put on it or any money in general so I don't know why I would need it.
"You know, anything" he shrugs. "If you wanna buy lunch at school or maybe if you go out with friends one night and need to buy food or wanna go shopping. You don't always have to ask now you'll just have a card"
He motions for me to take the card. I do so reluctantly and slip the card into the smallest pocket of my bag. I guess the first thing I should invest in is a wallet.
We get to school and I meet with Anna at her locker. I have a lock now so I occupy the locker next to hers. She tells me that Henry is sick but he should be back tomorrow. I make a mental note to text him and tell him to feel better.
"So are we gonna talk about why Mason keeps staring at you?" Anna asks me when we start walking to class.
"What do you mean?" I ask. Obviously I noticed it but I didn't know it was obvious enough for other people to notice.
"He never used to hang around here in the morning until you put your locker here and he stares at you pretty much the whole time" she explains in detail.
"I don't know...why he stares. But, it does kind of makes me uncomfortable" I mumble the last part.
"Maybe you should tell Noah" she suggests.
"No" I immediately shut her down. "And you can't either because Noah already doesn't like him and he'll make a big deal out of it"
She throws her hands up in defense and says she won't tell him.
Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate Noah looking out for me and all but he really seems to hate the boy with grey eyes-Mason-and I don't want to alert him over nothing.
They day progresses and I finally have to go to my most dreaded class of the day. I wish I didn't dread calculus so much because I actually enjoy the subject.
I sigh taking out my calculus book. About halfway through class I am relieved that Mason still hasn't showed up. I'm finally able to have a peaceful and learning filled class period which puts me in a pretty good mood.
At the end of class my teacher, Mr. Carvello, stops me before I can walk out the door. I step over to his desk and wait for him to speak.
"I've notice that you are really excelling in this class and I have a student who is having some trouble. I was wondering if you would be willing to tutor them for a few days this week after school. You would be getting service hours and extra credit for it" he says shuffling around papers on his desk before looking up at me.
