As soon as I see him, our eyes connect.

Holy mother of-

My eyes linger on his body much longer than they should and the closer I get the more intense our stares become. But I can't help myself, he looks hot and I'm not even gonna try to deny that thought.

He's dressed in all black. A tight button up shirt hugging every inch of his body with his sleeves rolled up exposing a quarter of his arms. He has a black blazor drapped over his back holding it with one hand and on his wrist is a very expensive looking gold watch.

I pull my eyes away from his body and meet him at the bottom of the staircase. I hadn't even noticed that Amy was snapping pictures of us.

He continues to rake his eyes over my body, as if he were studying for a test he had in a few minutes. Then suddenly, he clears his throat and looks over at Amy.

"Should I have her back by a certain time?" he asks.

She shakes her head. "John has a twenty four hour shift and I'm gonna be at the hospital majority of the night as well. Just make sure you text when you get home safely okay?" she says turning to me.

I nod my head and then she gives me another hug before walking away.

Mason turns back to me and closes the gap between us. He runs his fingers up my arm. My skin is filled with the heat of the sun yet goosebumps rise to the surface. His fingers run all the way up to my shoulder and across my collarbone. I take a deep shakey breath and look up at him.

"You look amazing"

His breath is a mixture of smoke and mint as is the rest of his body. I'm tempted to lean all the way in and let his scent completely take over me, pulling me into a different dimension.

I'm too captivated by him to answer and he knows it as a smirk grows on his lips. He takes my black coat off the coat rack and slips it on me, then he puts on is own jacket.

"Ready?"

I simply nod my head and he escorts me to his car.

It takes us exactly thirty minutes to get there, and our destination is mind blowing.

I guess you can't call it a ball if it isn't in a castle.

This is like a literal fairytale. It's unreal. I'm at a loss of words.

While we're waiting in line for the valet parking, Mason reaches in the backseat for something and comes back up with two black masks. One of them is decorated beautifully with black feathers and black rhinestones that shine under the light and it has silk ties in the back.

He gestures for me to turn around and he ties the mask over my eyes, gently manuvering his fingers through my hair. When I turn back around he has his mask on as well.

"Thanks" I say giving him a small smile. He returns it just as the valet comes to take the car.

We walk inside and it is even more stunning than I could have imagined. With floor to ceiling pilars and a long hallway with a red carpet that leads to a set of stairs at the end. Expensive paintings that line the walls and large arches creating depth within the structure of the building. The decor makes me feel like we are in a mid century mansion.

We give our coats to the people at coat check and then begin walking down the long hallway.

"This is...a lot" I say still taking in my surroundings.

He chuckles and I hear my heart instantly flutter at the sound of it. "Our families get invited to fundraisers and parties far bigger than this. Give it a few more years and you'll be coming to these more often than you'd like"
