"Are you convinced that he is fine?" the elve spoke. You nodded and turned towards him.

"Since I'm insured that he is fine, I'll fulfill your requirement." Your hands reached up to your hood to pull it down. Meanwhile, your stylus hovered over your left shoulder, relieving your runes. On their way back, one of your hands grabbed the fiddle that held your cape closed. The black fabric blew widely as it sank to the ground. The elve's eyes widened as he was, who was standing in front of him. He was stunned for a moment before speaking again.

"So you are the Nephilim then..." he said, starting to walk towards you. Fast, your short sword was risen and directed on him.

"I am what you want. But my question is, what is the reason behind your desire?" you asked, mimicking his tone from earlier. A cold chuckle erupted, followed by an answer to your question.

"Since I need you for this, I can tell you. We made a deal with a powerful ally. He needs you for his purposes. But what they are, I do not know."

"Does this ally have a name? I would like to send his allies' heads to him," you growled and started to cycle him, just as the elve did with you.

"You are here now, so what should happen now on? He'll be here anytime soon. His name is Thanos and I can ensure you, you'll not need to send anyone's heads." Now, he was nearly laughing as he spoke. With a swift movement, you held your sword against his throat, pulling his head back by his hair.

"If he is here, he can get them himself and when he gets them, his will be on top of the pile," you hissed a heartbeat before you cut off his head.

In the next moment, dark elves rushed into the room, attacking you. One by one, they lost their heads till non came anymore. Black blood dripped from your blade as you regained for a moment. This was not how you wanted this to go.

You rushed to Loki, who was still kneeling next to the empty throne. You unbounded his wrists that were red and shore by now. Also, you ungagged him and wrapped your arms around his kneeling form.

"I was so worried they would have hurt you," you breathed in his neck. He is stiff and you ask yourself what was wrong with him.

"Were you really?" he asked coldly. You pulled away a bit, so you could look him in the eyes.

"You know I heard what you said. You seemed honest and now, I didn't know what I should believe. Is the you the real one that tells me it loves me and that want's to be with me or is the real one the one I just saw?" he asked, his voice laced with the broken pieces of his heart. You placed your hand on his cheek, looking him deeply in the eyes before answering.

"My dearest Loki, I've fallen in love with you nearly one year ago. I didn't know if we had a future or not but I didn't care. I wanted to be with you as much as possible. I wanted to be yours and for you to be mine. I couldn't imagine life without you..." you stopped for a moment to take a breath.

"And nothing has changed about this in all this time. I love you, no matter what. If you are an Asgardian prince, the King of Jotunheim, the God of mischief, a frost giant, immortal, or what else. I would love you. I would love you as a mortal human or an immortal god. I love you more than life itself. That's why I fleed the palace the moment after we received the news that you were kidnapped. I found Hvergelmir to get here without someone standing in my way. I wanted to get to you even if that meant losing my life. Because loving someone means giving everything you have to and for that someone." Tears were running down your cheeks as you spoke and your voice broke in the last sentence. Loki's green eyes searched for any hint that you could have been lying but there was nothing to find.

Then arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you close into the tight chest of your loved prince. He believed you and he was safe. That was everything you needed.

A shuffle was heard and you whipped around. A last dark elve stood there, a bow in his hand. Loki shoot to his feet, ready to fight. The elve aimed for the Prince but his way was blocked by your form.

"Stepp aside, woman," he spat but you didn't move an inch.

"Move!" he barked but still, there was no reaction. Annoyed he directed his aim to the side and shoot. You used the chance to kill the elve but a sudden yelp caught your attention.

Loki fell to his knees, an arrow sticking to his side. You rushed to him, checking his injuries. He was bleeding heavier as you pulled out the arrow. Black magic was radiating from the wound, threatening the prince's health. Moanes of pain filled the air. You could see, that his condition worsened. You panicked, not wanting to lose him.

"Please stay with me, Loki. I need you," you said, pressing your hand on the bleeding spot. The handsome face of the Prince was cramped in pain but he managed to look at you. His hand reached up to cup your cheek.

"Go, he isn't allowed to get you. I'll only slow you down. Also, it is hopeless. I'll die and there is nothing you can do about this," he breathed, tears pricking in his eyes. You grabbed his hand on your cheek tightly.

"No, no, no. I can't lose you. You're all I have, worth living," you pleaded but before you finished, Loki fainted. You had to do something, otherwise, he would die. You pulled your stylus from your pocket. You had to do this. He may would die the one or the other way but you had to try.

The sound of ripping fabric was followed by a curse from your lips. You knew he would die when you didn't do this so you wanted to risk it. If his soul couldn't handle the rune, he would die as well so you could only win.

You felt how Loki's heart beat slower and slower. You hadn't a lot of time anymore. The small crystal glowed and you drew the familiar rune onto his skin next to the would. It glowed for a moment like the embers of a blazing fire before appearing black on his skin. The bleeding stopped and his heartbeat got stronger just as his breath. You dragged him to the courtyard, where Trioblaid was already waiting. You got Loki's unconscious form onto the stallion's back but went back to prepare something for the man that wanted you so badly for his purposes.
