20: Monday Morning

I walk up the stairs at 4:30 this morning and go to start the coffee pot before Jay and Mouse get here. Around 10 minutes later, Mouse walks in through roll-up with Jay asleep on his hip. My face softens when I see the pacifier that Jay's sucking on. 

"Thanks for coming in earlier than usual." Mouse whispers

"No problem, you can put him on the couch in my office." I tell Mouse  

"Okay, I need to get going so if he wakes up big, everything should be okay, but if he wakes up little, give him a bottle and change him into his littles clothes, also he likes to sit on peoples laps and curl into them, so thats a good job for Kevin and Adam." Mouse rambles

"Take a breath, we got this." I say to my dectectives boyfriend

Mouse lets out a big breath and looks at me.

"I'm gonna call every night before he goes to bed." Mouse speaks 

"Like a good parent does, or 'daddy' I should say." I point out

"Yeah, I think every parent does that, so why can't I do it for my little." Mouse says

Jay lets out a tiny yawn before opening his eyes. 

"Hey baby, I need to go to the airport but I'll be back in two weeks." Mouse tells Jay

He must still be little because tears well up in his eyes. Mouse kisses his each cheek, his nose, and his forefead before speaking again.

"I need you to be brave for me, can you fo that?" Mouse asks Jay

He nods his head.

"Okay, I have to go, but I'll call every night before bed." Mouse tells Jay

I grab Jay from Mouse's arms and set  him on my hip as he walks away. Jay whines and I rub his back. I walk into my office and lay him down on the couch before covering him up with my jacket.
