we are sitting next to eachother with his aunt georgia and uncle steve.
"how did you two meet" georgia asks
"at school, i just moved here a few months ago"
"oh lovely, how do you like it"
"it's super cool, ive made great friends and this town is beautiful"
"i'm glad you love it, and greatful someone has stuck around owen this long" steve laughs and i join
"hilarious" owen adds

"seriously how do you put up with him" georgia asks
"alright i will be in the other room" owens says standing up and walking away
i laugh at his annoyance and turn my attention back to the conversation.
"he's a great guy, he really is" i smile
"he's very stubborn" georgia says
"i agree but i think he has gotten better"

her eyes lay on my neck
"beautiful necklace" she says
"thank you" i smile
"do you know where you got it? i would love to get one" she asks
"i-i would have to ask owen it was a christmas gift from him"
"how sweet, you must catch his eye"
"were good friends" 
she nods
"i'm gonna find owen i'll see you guys around"

with that i stand up and make my way around the house
i feel an arm go around my waist
"i'm sorry for leaving you with my family" i smelt the alcohol in his breath
"it's ok, what have you drank in the past ten minutes" i ask
"don't worry about it"
"owen..."
"seriously, i'm fine"
i believed him, he didn't seem that drunk.

i spotted sara sitting with ellie on the couch. i grab owens hand and sit over with her.
"hey" she sighs
"what's wrong" i ask
"this party is boring"
"drink something" owen says
"don't listen to him"
"if there weren't so many adults around then i would"
owen hands her his glass and she takes a few sips.

ellie was now sitting on my lap and jack was on owens. we were all talking and sara was telling us about school.
"any boys" i ask raising my eyebrows
"that's a conversation for another time" she laughs
"no come on are there any boys?" owen adds
"no" she says
"i'm hungry" jack says
"me too, let's go get food" sara says
"take ellie" owen adds
she sighs and picks ellie up from my lap and walks with jack towards the kitchen leaving owen and i with a few of his family members going about their own conversations.

i stand to adjust my dress but owen quickly pulls me down onto his lap
"owen"
"yes, love"
his hand lays on my thigh where the dress does not cover
"your dress is awfully short" he smirks
"well if you could let me stand up and fix it-"
"i wasn't complaining" he cuts me off
i roll my eyes and take a sip of my drink
"lets go to my room" he says
"no"
"why"
"i like it down here"
"you'll like it more up in my room"
"i doubt it"
"right"
"you know that bet is still on right, that is unless you already slept with someone" i say
"very funny but i haven't"
"mhm"
"how about you?"
"nope" i quickly answer

"and if anything you'll break first"  i add
"oh please, there is so many things i could say or do to make you beg me to take you"
hes right. and i hated that.
"that is just not true"
"then how come your body tensed up every time i touch you" he smirks
"it doesn't" i lie
"oh really?"
he slides his hand up my thigh even more causing me to bite my lip as he has just barely met the end of my short dress
"we can't do this here" i tell him, there were family members of his all around.
"so somewhere else?" he smirks again
"nope"
i quickly stand up and he sighs

i start my journey to the kitchen and hear owen following closely behind, i take it he was considering this now a game and two can play at this.
"alana sweetheart" wendy calls out and i head in her direction
"hi!"
"i am so happy you are here! i was surprised but so happy you are spending holidays with us!"
didnt owen say wendy wanted me here?
"of course!"
she pulls me into a side hug and while continuing to talk with the people around her

"this is owens school friend alana" she says to them
"these are dave's siblings"
"lisa,john and georgia" she adds
"we talked earlier" georgia said smiling
"so what do you think if this crazy family" wendy asks
"i love it" i laugh
"you're the sweetest" lisa says

"she is, and she's stuck around with owen for a while" wendy laughs
"oh aw you too together?" lisa asks
"no just friends" i quickly answer
her and john nod as georgia zones out, her and i had had this same conversation earlier so it was nothing new to her

i feel hands slip onto my hips
"talking about me?" owen asks from behind me, his body was pressed close to mine and he knew exactly what he was doing
"all bad thing" i assure him
"no we're just wondering how alana hasn't gotten annoyed with you yet" lisa jokes
"oh trust me i have" i laugh
"so wendy told us you moved here a few months ago, where are you from"
"laredo texas"
"oh you were really far down" john adds
"down south"  owens hand slowly move down my hips as he says that, no one seems to notice except me
"mhm" i say trying to keep a straight face
"and your whole family moved here?" john asks
"my mom and my two siblings yeah"
he smiles

"have you guys had anything to eat or drink"wendy asked
"not yet" owen says smirking
i knew exactly what he meant and he knew what he was doing to me. i hated it
"we have had a few drinks, haven't gotten around to the food yet"
"go eat! we don't want leftovers" she laughs

i smile and nod then pull owen with me over to the food table
"what are you doing" i ask
"nothing" he says innocently
i roll my eyes and turn away from him
"say the word and we'll go upstairs"
"you have been drinking so i'm gonna have to say no"

he slowly brings me to a back hall
"and what are we doing back here"

"definitely nothing while your family is here"

"i have an announcement if everyone could join me in the living room" dave's voice echos through the house
