"Aurora, stop hogging the IPad! I want to see if Garret changed his profile pic."
Ella shouted impatiently as she starts tapping her leg.

"Garret can wait. I'm trying to beat my previous high score in Minion Rush."
She rolled her eyes, "You're so immature."
"You're so immature."

"Mum! Aurora is doing it again." She whined.
"Aurora, please be nice to your sister." Their mom walked into the sitting room.

"Remember, darling. We're going to the ritual in 20 minutes." Aurora sighed as she jumped up from the coach and threw the iPad where she once was sitting.

"Hey" Ella moaned again.

Aurora rolled her eyes and instead walked upstairs to prepare for the ceremony. She started writing in her diary:

Today my family's coven will ask the ancestors who the next Season Witch is... They're supposed to get rid of all the vampires in French Quarter.
I don't even know why I'm supposed to be there. I'm not even a witch... In a way, I'm actually happy, I would hate it!
Doing spells... Constantly afraid that Marcel and his vampires are going to kill you. At least I'm out of the supernatural world!

The only problems I have are normal teenage girl problems like...
'My boyfriend broke up with me!' or 'We're out of Nutella!'

"Aurora! Come on, it's time to leave!"
She looked up alarmed. She jumped off her bed and made her way to the closet.
"Aurora!" Her mom called out.

"Coming!" The redhead shouted back, annoyed. She grabbed her leather handbag and shoved her pink bejeweled phone into it. She then reached for her jersey.

The weather reporter said it was going to be chilly - and she was always one for being prepared.

"Aurora!" Her mum shouted for a last time before she left the house.

She rushed downstairs and locked the front door as she speed-walked toward the family car.

"All witches and warlocks have come to today's ritual to find out who the Seasonal Witch is." Bastianna announced as she stood in the front of the building.

The building was far from pleasant. The walls were grey and warn down. Cobwebs spiralled and most corners. But it was supposed to be like that... So Marcel would not suspect anything weird was going on. They were forced into hiding because of that monster.

The young woman nervously played with her fingers. She knew she was not going to be chosen and yet she still felt anxious.

"Let's start!" Bastianna shouted. The sound reverberated throughout the room. If somebody was day dreaming... They would be wide awake now.

All the older witches and warlocks went first. That included her mother and father. They seemed very excited. The elder took a knife and sliced the older witches' and warlocks' palms making Aurora flinch...
It looked like it really hurt.

Some of the younger people started to line up. Since there was no chance it could be her she instead softly walked out. Blood was always something that got to her. The colour, the texture the idea of the warmth it radiated nauseated her.

As she got to the main door an elder called out, "And where are you going?"
Everyone turned toward her direction. Just like that, all hope of leaving, vanished into thin air.

"Sorry, I wasn't feeling well. I needed to get a breath of fresh air." She explained with a half-hearted smile.

"Well, it can wait. Come stand in front of the line." He gestured towards the line. She sighed as she walked in front of the queue.
Bastianna took the knife... With a nervous expression Aurora turned toward her, "I am not even a witch, though."
