I nodded slowly, "Okay"
"Okay," He replied softly.
I stared deep into Klaus' turquoise eyes and waited for him to say something but nothing left his mouth.
A loud sound came from Klaus' pocket making me pull away. And guess what made that sound... His phone. Klaus took his phone out and put it against his ear.
"Hello... Yes... Okay, meet me at the Mystic Grill." Klaus hung up and looked at me, "Present is here." He said already knowing what I was going to ask.
"Do you wanna go inside and wait for it?" He questioned. "No, I want to wait outside. If it is fine by you?" I answered making him nod. "So what is it?" I asked finally showing that I'm excited. I just couldn't help myself.
"I can see that you're exited," He chuckled as he continues, "If you held on for so long then you can wait for a few minutes."
"But this is the worst part, right before the surprise." I pouted. "Come on you're very strong. You can do this." He gestured towards me and smirked.
"Fine,"
A new car arrived at the parking lot. I tried to look through the window but the windows were blackened. "Is the present in there?" I asked curiously.
He looked at the car and questioned himself but then he looked back at me and smirked, "Yes"
Butterflies started flying around in my stomach. The car door opened and a familiar figure made its presence.
"Elijah?" I questioned his name not knowing if Klaus was playing a trick on me. He nodded.
My heart almost stopped but not literally because if it did I would be dead.
I ran towards Elijah and embraced him. Klaus awkwardly followed me. "How? I mean... Why did Marcel set you free?" I moved my head up and look at him. This is just amazing!
It's so nice to know that Elijah is safe... "I told you. This was part of my plan all along." Klaus said before Elijah could answer. I pulled away.
"Marcel and Klaus finally made a truce." Elijah said. It is so nice to hear his voice again... "What is the truce?" I asked as I looked at Klaus and then back to Elijah. "Nothing important for now. I'll tell you when you get back to New Orleans." Klaus quickly answered. I could see an antsy look spread across his face. What are they hiding?
"Are you hungry?" Klaus asked trying to change the subject. I stared at him confused for a few seconds. I doubt that if I ask them for the truth they'll tell me it... So I'll just leave it.
"Yes and I'm sure you're starving." Elijah answered. I started walking towards the Mystic Grill and both of the brothers followed me. I feel like we're playing 'follow the leader'.
As I walk into the Mystic Grill I noticed that each of them was walking beside me but on other sides. Elijah was walking on the right side and Klaus on the left... Almost like body guards. My confidence just boosted. Imagine if someone messed with me now, they would have to deal with two Originals...
We sat down by the same booth as before.
A guy with sandy blonde hair and marble blue eyes walked towards us and asked what we would like to have but the minute he noticed Klaus his whole mood changed.
"Klaus, what are you doing back in Mystic Falls?" He asked bitterly. "Visiting" Klaus smirked.
"But don't worry I'm leaving today." He continued, "Now please take our order. Some of us are starving."
I know what he meant by 'some of us'. He meant me. But aren't they hungry?
"Vampires don't need to eat human food." The guy answered.
Wait... vampires don't eat food? Well human food to be precise. Now it makes sense why I never really saw them eating. I feel like the stupid one. Who is this guy and how does he know so much about vampires?
"Matt, if you didn't notice. Elijah and I aren't the only ones sitting on this table. You see this girl," Klaus pointed towards me annoyed, "She isn't a vampire... And she's starving." Klaus finished.
I'm not that hungry but I'll just keep my mouth shut... Matt ripped his notepad out of his pocket and clicked his pen as he groaned, "What would you like to eat?" He robotically asked in a monotone voice.
"Aurora would like to have an omelet..." Klaus turned to me. "What would you like to drink, love?" He asked. "Uhm...uhm... Orange juice." I quickly answered.
Matt nodded informing me that he heard what I had said. "Anything else?" Matt looked up.
"No," Klaus replied making Matt walk away and get our order ready for us.
"How does everybody know you?" I whispered resting my elbow on the table. "Elijah and I have some history here." Klaus answered not saying the full story again. Since I came to Mystic Falls everything has been a mystery.
"It doesn't sound like good history."
"Past mistakes but we're all smiling friends now." He said innocently. I noticed that Klaus is the chatty one out of the two brothers. Elijah is the silent, mysterious one. You never know what his thinking...
"Okay," I said unsure.
Klaus opened his mouth to say something but got interrupted by his phone. 'Beep...beep'
Every time...
He answered his phone. "Hello, Hayley... Yes... Okay... I'll be there." Klaus hung up and looked at me. "I'm sorry, love. But I have to leave right now." He said as he got up.
"What happened?" I asked. "Trouble in paradise," He stopped and turned back to us,
"Goodbye, love. Elijah look after her. If something happens to her brother. So help me I'll..." He tried to continue but Elijah cut him off.
"Dagger me? Don't worry, brother. Nothing will happen to her."
Klaus nodded and started walking away. I just stared at the exit, even though he was already gone...
"Klaus told me you're here to control your magic." Elijah snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah" I sighed. He looks at me concerned, "What's wrong?"
"My magic doesn't want to work." I replied. "Don't worry everything will work out." He sounded so assuring. He makes me want to believe that this will work out, that I can do this...
But I know its false. And he knows it too... He just doesn't want me to worry. That's the type of person he is, the type that will comfort you, lie to make you feel better and try to take all your pain away but on the end realization hits you and you know what the truth is...
"Elijah, even if this whole magic thing works out and I go back to New Orleans. How can I face the witches and Marcel?... I will never have a normal life again." A tear rolled down my cheek.
"Just have faith that everything will happen like it's supposed to." He repeated himself wiping the tear away.
