Aurora sat on the rooftop and looked ahead. Her fingers gripped the brittled bricks making some small cracks form.
The streets were busy. People swarmed around with cars racing by. She looked up into the sky and noticed grey clouds piling up.
There was going to be another storm. She stood up and tried to balance herself before climbing off. Every movement felt like a punishment lately. No matter what she did she felt as if stones were stacked inside her lungs. Breathing became hard and her bones felt heavy. She tested this herself. She lifted up her arm and swayed it around but every time it went into one direction she almost stumbled into the same direction. She knew something was wrong... She just was not so sure what it was...
Aurora took her phone out of her bag and tried to see if there were any messages for her. Her eyes squinted as the sun's rays reflected on the screen. She moved her head in the way of the sun and moved her arm until the phone's bottom edge was resting on her stomach.
There were 2 messages. Klaus asked twice where she was.
She sighed before walking back home. She arrived after a few minutes and began to walk toward the kitchen.
"I need you to come to an event with me, love." Klaus spoke up. His voice reverberated against the walls. She turned around, "Why?""Business."
"Is it about the witches?" She asked.
"No."
"Then why would you need me?"
"Just call it backup, love."
"You know Elijah won't like what you are doing."He sent a small smirk her way, "You mean what we are doing. Besides, when do you ever actually do what Elijah tells you to do?"
She looked at him, furrowing her brows.
"Well, then. Let's go," Klaus held out his arm for her. She sighed before taking it.***
Both exited the car and walked toward a warehouse.
"Klaus, I'm serious... You better tell me what you want me to do..."
He kept quiet and instead vacantly stared ahead. She took this as a sign to keep quiet. The only sound came from the soles of their shoes as it hit the tar. This was an eerie quiet. The little witch knew something was coming... And she had a feeling that she wouldn't like it one bit.She contemplated taking Klaus' arm, just for reassurance. Maybe that way, if something, no, when something was going to happen the big bad original was going to make it go away and she would be safe. However, she knew not to be that foolish. Klaus would not take her with if he did not truly need someone's help. He was too proud to do so.
So, she chose not to take his arm and instead fold hers.
He opened the door. It creaked as it opened and she swore that there was a flash. In this case a 'zoom'.
"Klaus... Are there other vampires?"
She reached out to touch his shoulder. It was tense. He flinched and looked back at her with a warning in his eyes. A warning to once again keep quiet.Fear was evident in her heart. She wished that she was brave... That she would be brave enough to stop the Mikaelsons... To stop the witches... Then maybe there would finally be peace but she could not. This Mikaelson was one that she grew to care for even if she would not admit it to him.
Aurora felt a breeze fan her neck. She turned immediately.
She imagined what beast would stand behind her but it was nothing. Merely just the car. She gulped and looked forward. Klaus was already two steps ahead. She trudged behind him.
Before she could even blink Klaus sped past her and grabbed one of the vampires. More suddenly appeared around them.
She looked around, shocked, as one spoke up, "See, Klaus. You can't keep us here for long. We're getting out." The one sped toward her and grabbed her, "I see you brought your little pet." He glared down at her before speaking on, "Her death is on your hands."
Aurora softly started to chant, "Asinta Mulaf-"
"Nope." The vampire pushed his icy hand over her mouth and kept it there. The cold spread across her face. Her body shook as he tightened his grip over her neck and mouth, "Any last words to your pet?"She looked at Klaus, who was being held down by three others. He was fighting to get free too. Suddenly she stood still. She knew what she had to do. With all the force inside her she bit his hand. He retracted his hand. And in the second she quickly chanted. "AsintaMulafHintoShoBala."
The vampire fell, wide-eyed, with the rest. Klaus immediately stood up and walked over to her, "And that is why I brought you."
She looked at him in relief as she tried to catch her breath.
"Now kill them."
Her breath hitched and she looked around panicked, "I can't."
"You did it before."
"I never killed them."
"But they did die."
"By your hand!" She exclaimed desperately."Same thing. You knocked them out. You killed them just as much as Elijah and I did."
She was speechless. A murderer? Was that what she was becoming? Her heart sank.
Klaus looked at her intently whilst waiting for her reply. Instead, she looked away."I can't."
"It is just three words, Aurora. These men are murderers. If you don't kill them I'll set them free and then they'll kill more people, yourself included," He points toward the first vampire, "He tried to kill you and now you think that he does not deserve to get worse than that?"
"I never said that, Klaus."
"Didn't you? What must I do then? Kill them?"She stayed quiet and looked at that vampire. The urge to kill him right there, filled her every being.
The young witch stood like that for a few minutes until she took a step back,
"You do what you want with them but know that I know that you aren't killing them for the sake of others."With that she walked away, climbed into the car and drove off.
After an hour she decided to drive back home.
She climbed out and saw Elijah waiting outside, "What are you doing out here?"
"Can't a man just stand outside without having to mean anything..."She blushed and looked down, "Oh. Sorry."
He merely gave her a small chuckle, "I am just teasing." His face dropped slightly, "Klaus said that you just left."
"Did he tell you why?"
"He just said that he wanted to take you tonight to the festival and then you left.""Well, your brother lies."
He nodded, "Believe me. I know.""Do you want to tell me all about it when you go with me to the festival?"
She looked over at him, surprised. Did he just ask her to the festival? She bit her lip.
Maybe he didn't even mean anything by it... She sighed, "Yeah. I'll tell you then. When is it even?""Tonight."
