"Thank you for doing this, Klaus,"
I grazed my thumb over the wood's side. He said nothing, just nodded. A tear slipped down my cheek as I took a step back, "I know I didn't know her that well but she's just the closest thing I had since all this started."
"You don't need to explain yourself to me. I understand," He assured, taking my hand in his. My immediate reaction would've been to pull it away but it felt so good there.
"I just don't understand," I shook my head, "Who would've done it? And why?"
"I don't know," He squeezed my hand, "But we'll find them and make them pay."
I nodded. Klaus' phone rung. His hand left mine as he dug in his pocket and put the phone to his ear, "Yes, Elijah. We're on our way," He put the phone down and turned to me, "Let's go, little witch."
"To where?" I questioned still looking at Sophie's grave. "Well, you're going home and I'm going to the witches' Harvest festival." My gazed turned to him, "Why are you going to it?"
He shrugged, "I need to do some things." I rolled my eyes turning back to her stony grave, "Well, then go."
"Not without you first getting home safely, love," He argued. "I'll get there safely, on my own," I retorted. He sighed and slung me over his shoulder. "Hey!" I exclaimed, banging my fists against his back, "I'm going to kill you!"
"How?" He chuckled walking towards the car. "I don't know but I'll find a way," I pouted eventually giving up and rested my elbow on his back.
Bye, Sophie.
I watched as her grave disappeared between the trees. Soon we got out of the woods. He put me down and opened the door. I climbed in not taking a glance his way.
He started the car and drove off. I looked out of the window and noticed a figure standing between the trees. I closed my eyes and opened them again as I looked back. It was gone...
A bewildered expression was planted onto my face as the car stopped and I climbed out. It was almost as if I was in a trance... I paid no attention to surroundings as I walked to my room and shut the door.
"I wish I had my diary now..." I mumbled to myself as I made way toward my bed. I bit my lip and looked around the room.
It was so boring... With its beige sheets and white walls. Not even the curtains had any colour in them... I took a deep sigh and opened the drawer of my desk. There were many colourful fine liners... I took out a blue and purple one as I fell back onto my bed.
I lied and doodled a daisy on the base knuckle of my thumb. A knock on the door interrupted my concentration. The door opened and Klaus entered, "Goodbye, love." I put the fine liners down and stood up from the bed, "Bye, Klaus." I saluted him before turning to my window.
"Don't do anything stupid." He demanded but with the tone, he used it still sounded soft. I turned back to him, "I won't," I raised the pitch of my voice higher and acted innocently, "And why would you think I'd ever do that?"
"I know you, love. You're curiosity somehow always gets the best of you," He paused and looked around the room before his eyes land back on me, "Plus you have a history of sneaking around places you shouldn't." A small smile played on my lips, "Yeah, I guess so..."
"Good, girl," He smirked and walked out, closing my door. I rolled my eyes but quickly realized that I still needed to ask him something. I stormed out of the room, "Klaus! Wait!" He stopped and turned to me, "You're being quite dramatic..." He chuckled.I ignored his comment and asked, "Is Elijah going with you?" He nodded, "Yes."
