Aurora walked through the busy streets toward a market as the sun burned the backside of her head. Elijah walked beside her. Their loud surroundings made up for the lack of words between them.

"Would you like to test this out, miss?" A low voice stood out from the rest. She turned around as this person tapped her on the shoulder. The man's height towered over the vampire and witch. He stuck his hand out and waited for her to reply. In his hand was a thin vial. She looked back at him, "What is in there?"

"It's a sweet drink..." The man's dark chocolate eyes stared at her attentively, once again waiting for a reply or at least a reaction.

Elijah tugged at her shirt and whispered, "I wouldn't advise this." She was curious but Elijah was right...
She shook her head with an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry." And with that, she turned around and walked away before she could hear his reply.

Her pace increased as did Elijah's. "What's wrong, Aurora?" He questioned.
She stopped and turned to him, "I don't know," She took a deep breath, "I just have a bad feeling about today, you know?"
He nodded as his gaze landed on something behind her. A small smile played on his lips as he walked past her and talked to one of the vendors. The vendor then handed him a bouquet of light pink Orchids.

Her eyes widened as he walked toward her with them. "Aurora," He softly let out before handing the bouquet to be.

Her cheeks flushed as her smile went wide. She gladly took the flowers and stood on her tippy toes, planting a kiss on his cheek, "Thank you."
Her face became a light red after she realised what she did but Elijah didn't seem bothered by it. Instead, he just looked down intently. She bit her lip softly and looked down to the ground before back up to him.

Slowly the sounds of reality came rushing in. She blinked a few times, her gaze on the ground again and walked on. Elijah too had to recompose himself before walking after her.

She looked beside her noticing his presence, "I can't believe you remembered what my favourite flower is."

He said nothing.

"Do you know the story behind it?"
He gradually shook his head as his gaze stayed glued onto her.

"Well, when I was younger... Much younger, my grandmother used to tell me The Legend of the Lady's Slipper. I always remember her voice it was so passionate yet it never over-dramatised anything, it made me feel as if I was I was there," She broke eye contact and looked down to her feet again, "I'm sorry. It wasn't part of it."

His expression held no sign of any irritation instead he just looked at her, captivated. "I really don't mind, besides I like hearing your voice." His voice was warm and tender.

"Well, if you say so..." She looked back up to him, "She was one of the only people who really understood me at the time. She was also the only other human in the family. While then I still thought I was human and I did feel out, I mean wouldn't you? My whole family basically had super powers and me I guess I was just me..."

They walked into their living place and then upstairs into her room.

"Sadly, when I needed her the most my grandmother passed away. The stupidest reason, though. I mean she lived with witches, she travelled the world with my grandfather and she was even bitten by a poisonous snake once. She survived it all but in the end, she died because she was struck by lightning. It wasn't even a rainy day. That's the worst part. The sun was shining brightly. She was making jokes with me and then she walked out to get some washing. I still remember looking out of the window and seeing her smiling and humming," I stuck my hand out,
