"She can't stay that long in her room..." Elijah stated, "It's not healthy, she hasn't eaten in days." Klaus rolled his eyes, "You do what you do best, brother."
"Niklaus, this isn't the time for one of your jealous episodes..."
"I don't know what you are talking about," And with that Klaus left.
Elijah sighed before walking to Aurora's room's door. He stopped and hesitantly moved his arm to the door. The room was dead silent. The only indication of her presence in it was her fast heartbeat and soft breaths. He lightly knocked on the door. Her breath suddenly stopped. He stood there confused. He fought with himself, part of him wanting to smash the door open and see what she is up to but the other, more respective, part knew the best for this situation was to not intrude into her personal space. He needed to be a friend, not an enemy.
He knocked again, this time a bit more desperate. A breath left her mouth. "Elijah?"
"May I come in?" A shuffle came from behind the door before it opened, revealing a ghostly pale and tired looking Aurora. She turned away and walked toward her bed. Her room was a mess. Papers covered the floor, her bed was unmade. Even the walls had a few scribbles on it, it resembled a few sunflowers and some odd paring of numbers. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him.
"It has been 3 days."
Silence.
"We can't give you any more space."
She looked up again, "Elijah, I think I figured it out." Once again a bewildered expression landed on his face. "Figured what out?"
"What they meant."
He cautiously walked toward her.
"The numbers: 19 23 02." He looked at the wall, it had the exact combination on it, "What do you mean?"She looked around her room and sniffled, "It was 02 was the address of the warehouse and the 19: 23 was the time. They warned me of my families death and I didn't even give it a second thought. I've been so focused on worrying about my death that their death didn't even cross my mind. I just couldn't ever imagine them dying, you know?"
"You know I lost my parents too."
"Really?" She looked from Elijah to her hands. He nodded. "Who warned you?"
She bit her lip before replying, "It doesn't matter."He nodded again. That's where the more composed him had to interfere before he asked again who. She is on speaking terms right now. If he pushes her too much than she will shut down again. "Do you want something to eat?"
She gradually stood up, "Yeah. That sounds nice." They walked toward the kitchen. Elijah leaned against the counter whilst trying to hear if there was any sign of Klaus being around.
There is none. He must have left the house..."Elijah, what are you thinking about?" She questioned.
"Nothing..."Aurora narrowed her eyes as a smile was plastered onto her face, "If you say so." But her eyes gave it all away. Her smile playful but her eyes sad. Sad eyes are the biggest alarms.
"I know this might sound insensitive... But how did your parents pass away?" She questioned.
His neutral expression became tense.
"Sorry, I didn't mean too-" She cut herself off, "Sorry.""It's alright. I'll tell you in the future. Just not now..." He trailed off. She nodded whilst she finished spreading jam on her bread, "I'm going just go rest after I eat. I could not fall asleep last night..."
"That sounds good."
After eating she went to her to her room and then to bed, just as she said she would do. Once again, she could not fall asleep. After around thirty minutes she decided to get up and go do something instead to take her mind of the funeral taking place tomorrow.
