'So, how does everyone feel about the new defence against the dark arts teacher?' Pansy asked the girls.
Pansy, Darah, Millicent, Daphne and Tracy were all in the girls dormitory together, gossiping and chatting before the first proper school day.
'I think he's kinda cute.' Daphne giggled.
Pansy raised an eyebrow. 'Sure. And Dumbledore is the hottest wizard ever.' She said sarcastically.
'You can't talk, Pansy. You fancy Snape.' Millicent wiggled her eyebrows at her, playfully.
'Shut up.' Pansy half laughed.
'What do you see in him?' Darah asked cautiously, she was generally curious to see why Pansy thought that about her dad, who, in her opinion, wasn't good looking at all, obviously.
'I dunno. He's got that face.' She looked at Darah. 'Sorta like yours actually. It's nice.'
Darah felt her cheeks flush with fear. Luckily no one seemed to make the connection.
'Plus he hates Gryffindors so that's a bonus.' She sniggered.
'He doesn't hate them. He just... has a different opinion on them.'
'Yeah and that different opinion is hatred.' Pansy said sarcastically. 'I think Snape has a soft spot for you, you know. You might have a chance with him.' She joked at Darah, half serious.
'What?!' Darah shouted, disgusted. 'No way!' She didn't even want to let that thought get into her head.
All the girls burst out laughing.

Darah walked into her first class: divination. She takes a seat on the second row and waited for more people to arrive.
Soon after, Hermione, Ron and Harry all walk in. Darah waves at them kindly, half hoping they'd sit with her.
Hermione waves back but Ron and Harry barely look up at her.
'Come on you two. You can't still be mad at her.' She hears Hermione say as the trio sit down at a table diagonal to her.
'It's not her fault she's a Slytherin, Ron.'Ron scowls and looks in Darah's direction. 'Whatever.'
Darah feels a sharp pain in her heart, hurt by Ron. She was so confused, one minute he was ecstatic to see her and the next he was giving her death stares.
Just then a grey-eyed blondie walked into the room, giving the sense of swag and minimum effort.
'You! You're taking Divination?' Darah hiccoughed at Draco.
He shrugged. 'Won't take a lot of effort will it? Not with that baffoon teaching us.' He gestured towards Professor Trelawney who was fidgeting about around the front of the classroom, muttering gibberish to herself.
'She seems... alright?' At this point Darah was just trying to convince herself that would be true.
'Manifest all you like, but you won't learn a thing from her.' Draco laughed as he got out his notebook and placed it on the desk in front of them. 'By the end of the year, this book'll only have around, let's say, ten words?' He joked, relaxing back into his chair smugly.
'Good morning class.' Professor Tralawney spoke timidly but so everyone could hear. She twitched around looking at her blackboard of things to say.
'Today is divination.''Really? Thought this was potions?' Draco joked sarcastically in Darah's ear who smiled back, holding in a giggle.
'Now if you look at the tea pots on your desks.' She looked around. 'O-oh dear. Where are all your tea pots?' She asked worriedly.
The class all looked around at each other with confusion.
'Tea pots weren't on the list.' Darah heard Hermione whisper as she took out a giant book from her bag and began to flick through it, panicking.
'Professor. We haven't got any tea pots.' Draco thrust his hand lazily into the air and spoke before he had been granted permission.
'W-why not?' Trelawney simply couldn't understand what was going on.
'They're not on the list, Professor.' Hermione interjects, having checked through her book.
'They're not? Oh that's right, my dear girl.' She travelled behind the blackboard and pulled out a box of tea pots. She walked around the classroom and placed a couple on each desk, shaking as she did so. 'Now take the cup opposite your partner.' She explained.
Darah and Draco glanced at each other before hesitatingly pulling the pots opposite them towards each other. Darah stared at her tea pot, expecting it to reveal some kind of future prediction. Nothing happened.
'Now take out your text books and translate what you see inside the pot.' Trelawney explained.
Darah took her book out her bag and flicked to the according page. She then looked inside Draco's cup and saw a bunch of little beads of drained tea. She studied it, raising her eyebrow and chewing her lip. She searched for the shape in her book. 'Draco, I think yours says broken.'
'Broken? What's that supposed to mean?' He grabs his cup and looks inside. 'Nah, you're looking at it upside down. It says glorious.' He grinned proudly.
Darah snorted. 'Sure. What does mine say?'
'Hold on.' Draco scanned his book then began laughing uncontrollably.
'What.' Darah smirked but stopped when she saw Ron's death glare out of the corner of her eye.
'It says pure and dishonor, which is so not true.' He laughed. 'What was Dumbledore thinking, letting her teach this bull.'
The room suddelnly fell silent as Professor Trelawney dropped a tea pot to the floor, smashing into millions of fragments. She began shaking violently, her eyes grew wide. She let out a mini high-pitched scream. She bent down to Harry's table. 'My dear. You have the grim.'
