Darah watched closely as Draco Malfoy held out his hand for the other boy to shake.
Then a boy stood next to him with fiery, red hair snickered. Draco gave him a disgusted look. 'Think my name's funny do you? No need to ask for yours, red hair and a hand me down robe? You must be a Weasley.' He scrunched his nose and turned away back to the other boy.
He boldly declined the offer and a teacher came out to call us in. Darah instantly forgot the conversation that just happened and she bounced happily into the great hall.
The stary sky above them all floated around. A girl somewhere near her said it was bewitched to look that way. It was a magnificent sight.
All the first years stood at the front of the room and it was time for the sorting.
Darah saw her father from the corner of her eye and gave him a grin of joy. He barely moved his lips in response and kept a stern face with his arms crossed.
'Granger, Hermione.' The teacher, Professor McGonagall, called.
Nervously a bushy haired girl made her way through the crowd and up to the front. She sat on the stool as an old hat was placed on her head.
It began to talk to itself. Darah was bewildered as its mouth moved and sung it's song.
Then suddenly, 'Gryffindor!' It announced proudly. Hermione jumped off the chair as her uniform changed magically to red and yellow. She skipped her way down to the Gryffindor table which was filled with claps and happiness.
'Potter Harry.' Darah perked up as the name was called remembering what her father had said to her.
The same boy from earlier made his way up to the stage. Darah tried to make eye contact with her father but he was busy focusing on Harry. She forced herself to look down at the floor to stop her staring at Harry Potter.
The hat took a while to decide but eventually it came to a decision of 'Gryffindor!' Harry smiled cheekily and went down to the table where Hermione also went, more claps and cheers sounded as he was patted on the back by his fellow Gryffindor members.
'Lucie, Darah.' Darah's head popped up eagerly and she rushed onto the stool, she saw her father swiftly, he gave an almost unnoticeable nod of reassurance.
The hat was placed on her shiny, dark hair. 'Hm, your father did great in Slytherin, perhaps... but it seems you would be better in Gryffindor.' The hat paused a while to think.
'Slytherin, I want to be Slytherin.' Darah wished silently.
'Well if you say so, Slytherin!' It announced and Darah filled with joy.
She sat at the green table as her uniform transformed to match. She turned to her side to see her father's mouth corner smirking and he nodded again discreetly.
