Darah took it steady the next morning. She awoke earlier than everyone else to try and sneak her breakfast over to the Gryffindor table without any judgemental Slytherins giving her backlash.

She entered the great hall, the Slytherin table was empty; they all tended to wake up later than everyone else. Darah looked at the table of red in the middle and headed over to them.

On her way there she eyed Professor Lupin who was sat contently eating his breakfast of eggs and sausage. She thought to herself that Snape had probably erased his memory so she tried to push the memories and questions from the previous night away.

She sat down next to Hermione, facing Ron and Harry. 'Hey. Mind if I chill with you this morning?'

'Pansy still not talking to you then?' Harry asked.

'Nope. Didn't really get a chance to talk to her last night. She was already asleep.' She lied, avoiding the topic.

'Ready for defence against the dark arts after this?' Ron exclaimed, stuffing food into his mouth.

'Definitely!' Hermione an Harry said together.

Darah stayed silent, her eyes instantly averted to where Lupin was sat, he was now talking to Flitwick.

'I bet he'll be a great teacher! He was so good on the train.' Hermione continued.

'Yeah and he knew what to do when he gave us those biscuits, right Darah?' Harry said enthusiastically.

Darah re-focused. 'Oh, yeah.'

'Hey Darah, why is Professor Lupin staring at you like that?' Hermione pointed out.

'Wha-' Darah turned around. Lupin was looking at her. Her, not Harry, not Ron, not Hermione. Her.

'Probably because she fainted on the train.' Ron shrugged.

'A little insensitive, Weasley, but yeah you're probably right.' Darah tried to joke and find an explanation to the situation.

Just then Draco, Pansy, Crabbe, Goyle and Millicent all walked through the door to the great hall.

'Oh god.' Darah crouched down, out of sight, trying to hide behind Neville. 'Sorry Neville, I'm just gonna use you as cover for a sec.'

'Oh, ok.' He smiled warmly and carried on eating contently.

'Are you and Draco not good either then?'

'No, we're fine but I don't wanna see him right now. Things were... complicated last night.' Darah ducked behind Harry's head as the gang sat down at their table.

Hermione put her arm around Darah and brought her into a loose hug. 'They'll see sense when they realise there's a hole open that they cannot close without you.'

Darah smiles. 'Hm, I like that. Very poetic, Mione.'

'Good morning class.' Professor Lupin stood at the front of the defence against the darks arts classroom.

He had not spotted Darah just yet who was hid amongst Harry, Hermione and Ron.

Whilst Lupin introduced himself to everyone Draco shuffled over to Darah and whispered in her ear so only she could hear. 'Good time to talk yet?'

'No really.' Darah whispered back flatly.

'You weren't there at breakfast.'
