The day started like any other, I went to school with my twin brother Scott. Oddly enough, even though we're twins, he and I aren't that similar in looks. He has dark brown hair, while I have dirty blonde. He has dark brown eyes, while I have hazel. A similarity? We both go to Beacon Hills High with our best friend Stiles, well, I guess you could say Scott's best friend. I've just kinda tagged along because that's what twins do.

Now that you know some basics, let's get on with my story.

Today was the big first day of sophomore year, and I definitely didn't want to be here. However, I made a promise that I plan on keeping.

As we walked into school, both of the boys were very groggy and looked like they had gotten no sleep the night before. "First-day jitters keep you guys up all night?" I joked.

"We didn't wanna  wake you up, but there was a dead body found in the woods!" Stiles exclaimed as Scott hit him. "I told you not to tell her," Scott said in a hushed voice. "A dead body?" I questioned in fear.

Murders don't happen in Beacon Hills, the closest thing would be my accident over the summer.

I hurt so many people.

"Yeah, well I mean, half of one anyway," Stiles said drawing me out of my thoughts.

"Soo, I assume you two went looking for the other half?" I asked raising an eyebrow at the adorable and excited brown-haired boy. "Duh, Mia, what kind of question is that?" Stiles asked as he gave a little laugh.

Stiles then turned to Scott, "Scott even got a souvenir out of it." I raised my eyebrows at Scott and he sighed. "Seriously Stiles? I told you to not bother her with this," Scott said glaring at Stiles. "Oh come on, we're a trio now," Stiles said wrapping his arms around Scott and me. "Mia is included."

Scott rolled his eyes, "Fine."

I shrugged Stiles's arm off of me and stood in front of the two boys. "What's the souvenir? Did you get hurt?" I asked concerned. "A wolf or something attacked me," Scott began to explain. "A wolf? In California?" I questioned folding my arms. Their story just kept adding up to nonsense.

"I-i don't know, but it bit me."

"Bit you? Where? Lemme see," I said beginning to search his body. "Mia, stop!" Scott shouted in a whisper while pulling my hands off of him. "It's not that bad," Scott said. He then scanned the people around us before lifting up his shirt to reveal a white bandage with blood seeping through.

"Not bad my ass," I yelled in a hushed tone, "it looks like it's still bleeding!"

Scott pulled his shirt back down rolling his eyes at how overprotective I was being. "How bad is it really?" He sighed, "I barely feel it anymore." I shook my head knowing he was lying.

The first class bell rang and Stiles sighed, "Wow, literally saved by the bell."

"Scott, at least get it checked out. Mom's a nurse she could..." I began to say but was cut off by Scott. "No Mia! Mom can't know, I'll be in so much trouble you can't tell her," He begged. I sighed, "Fine whatever, I won't. Just make sure it doesn't get infected or you get rabies or something."

Scott nodded and smiled, "Thank you." I returned the smile. "Alright well, I'll see you two later I gotta get to class."

We all said our goodbyes and I walked off to my first class. I wasn't even there yet and I already wanted the day to be over with. Coming here, walking down these halls, it didn't feel right. Not after the accident, not when my friends aren't here anymore.

After a long day of people giving me their condolences, school had finally ended. Scott and Stiles had lacrosse practice, so I decided to go and be supportive. Plus if I didn't wait for them, I would have to ride the bus or walk home.

As I reached the bleachers, there were a few people I knew of but I decided to just sit in the middle by myself. I scanned the field and saw Scott and Stiles getting in their positions, ready for the first play.

Scott was in the goalie position, what? He never plays that position.

"Hey, Mia!" I heard someone yell from behind me. I turned around to see Lydia Martin waving at me. "What're you doing down there? Come up here with us," She motioned to her and another girl.

Lydia and I had known each other for years. We were really good friends in middle school, but freshman year of high school came around and we kinda drifted apart. I met some new people and got in with the wrong crowds, while she remained that same smart and popular straight A student.

I smiled and decided to go up a few rows to sit with her. "Hey," I said to Lydia as I put my bag down. "How've you been? I heard what happened," She said the last part in a quieter voice, almost knowing that I didn't want others to hear.

"I'm okay, didn't really want to come today, but it's a new year that will hopefully be better than last," I said sighing. Lydia grabbed my hand smiling at me, "I know last year we sort of went our separate ways, but I'm still here for you." I smiled at her kindness.

My eyes drifted to the side as I noticed the girl sitting next to Lydia. I hadn't seen her before, so she was clearly new this year.

"I'm sorry I don't think we've met, I'm Mia," I said bringing the girls attention from the field to us. "I'm Allison. I'm actually new here, today was my first day," She confessed. "Aw, welcome to Beacon Hills!" I smiled while raising my hand to the town around us.

The whistle then blew and we knew practice had just started.

"So, do you like lacrosse?" Allison asked me.

"Uh, kind of. I've always preferred sports like basketball, but lacrosse isn't bad. I'm really just here for number 11 down there," I said pointing to my brother on the field. "Oh," Allison said shifting in her seat. "Is he your boyfriend?" She asked making Lydia and I bust out laughing. "God no, he's my brother," I stated making Allison's tenseness ease as she began to laugh with us.

As the laughter subsided, I saw how she stared at him on the field. "Are you asking 'cause you're into him?" I asked smirking. Scott had never had a girlfriend before, and of course I was dying for him to have one.

"Oh, uh, I-" Allison said caught off guard at my question. "I met him in my English class this morning, he's really nice. He gave me one of his pens."

"Must've been a really good pen, you've been eyeing him ever since we got here," Lydia joked making me smile.

"No," Allison said with a little laugh. "It was just very coincidental. I had just been complaining to my mom on the phone about how I had forgotten one. Then as soon as I came into the classroom and sat down he handed me a pen."

"My brother sounds like quite the hero," I stated taking another glance at him on the field before turning back to the girls. "So much of a hero that Allison decided to come to his practice," Lydia said smirking at her and Allison just rolled her eyes.

I then heard people "Ooo" and say things such as, "That's gotta hurt." I looked onto the field and saw that Scott had gotten hit to the ground, and according to the sounds people were making, it must've been a hard hit.

After Scott got up, his entire posture changed and he looked as if he would kill whoever touched him again. The next player threw a ball toward Scott, and to everyone's surprise, Scott caught the ball.

Scott continued to catch all of the balls and stop them from entering the goal, causing the teammates and people in the stands to cheer. I eyed him suspiciously. I love my brother, but Scott has never been this good at lacrosse. However today, he was starting to look like the best player on the field.

The coach then blew the whistle and instructed them to take a 5-minute break.

"I'll be back," I said to the girls before running down the bleachers and over to Scott.

I ran up to him and gave him a light smack on the shoulder. "Since when have you been this good at lacrosse?" I questioned not being able to hold back my proud smile.

"I-i don't know, it's like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball."
