"Hey try not to bleed out on my seats okay?" Stiles spat annoyed. "We're almost there."

We had been driving for about 15 minutes and it was completely silent, other than Derek groaning and practically dying in the backseat.

"Almost where?" I asked confused as to where Stiles planned on taking us. "Derek's house," Stiles said as if it were an obvious answer.

"No, you can't take me there!" Derek yelled from the back.

"I can't take you to your own house?!"

"Not when I can't protect myself," Derek quietly confessed.

Stiles then swerved and pulled to the side of the road putting the car in park. He turned around to the backseat glaring at Derek. "What happens if Scott doesn't find your little magic bullet?"

I've never seen Stiles this annoyed with someone before.

"Hmm, are you dying?" Stiles asked. "Stiles," I warned. "Not yet, I have a last resort," Derek spoke making me turn to him. "Last resort?"

Derek then pulled his sleeve up revealing a bullet wound that almost looked infected.

"Oh my god, what is that? Is that contagious?" Stiles gagged while looking away disgusted.

"Stiles," I said lightly hitting him on the shoulder. I grabbed Derek's arm analyzing it. The wound hadn't healed at all, not like how Scott told me werewolves are supposed to heal.

I gazed up meeting Dereks pained eyes. In this moment I felt useless, there's nothing I can do to help him. As I stared into his eyes, I remembered the day before and our intimate moment. I could feel my heart rate speed up as I thought about how his lips felt on mine.

"Oh god, Mia, you're touching it," Stiles said breaking me from my thoughts and from my eye contact with Derek. "You should probably just get out," He continued motioning for Derek to get out. I rolled my eyes at Stiles and turned back to Derek whose eyes were set on me as if he could read my thoughts from earlier.

"Start the car, now," Derek panted out of breath now looking down.

"You know, I don't think you should be barking orders with the way you look right now. In fact.." Stiles started and Derek looked up glaring at him.

This isn't going to be good.

"I could probably drag your little werewolf ass out into the middle of the road and leave you for dead."

"Start the car now, or I'm going to rip your throat out. With my teeth," Derek demanded.

I forgot I was still holding his arm until I could feel it clench as he was getting angry with Stiles. I quickly let go.

There was a moment of silence and Stiles started the car up again driving away.

I turned back around laying back in my seat staring out my window. This was insane, he got shot for why? Cause he's a werewolf? What has he ever done to the Argents? Or others? Why did Scott not tell me that Derek was shot?

My heart started to race as these thoughts of Derek continued to fill my head. "Mia, what's wrong?" Derek asked and I broke out of my thoughts. I turned to him and Stiles glanced at him then me.

"Your heartbeat is insanely loud and fast, it's all I can hear" Derek stated almost agitated yet concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine," I lied. "Now you're lying," Derek said looking directly into my eyes.

"Just leave her alone," Stiles said making Derek scoff.

"Why's your heart beating so fast?" Derek asked and I sighed turning back around. "Maybe it's cause I only just found out about you two yesterday, and now you're shot. Not healing, actively dying in this backseat," I let out as I made eye contact with him in the passenger side flip down mirror.

He smirked looking down in amusement.

He knew.

If he didn't know before, he definitely knew now that I'm starting to like him.

We had been sitting for a few hours now on the side of the road, seeing as how Derek wouldn't let us take him home. Stiles called Scott to see if he'd gotten anywhere yet.

"What am I supposed to do with him?" Stiles spoke on the phone and remained silent for Scott to respond.

"Ugh and by the way he's starting to smell," Stiles complained and Derek glared at him.

"Like death," Stiles finished making me roll my eyes. He was being dramatic it wasn't that bad.

"What about your boss?" Stiles asked, making me think Scott told us to take him to the clinic. Stiles sighed and handed the phone to Derek, "You're not gonna believe where he's telling me to take you."

Stiles turned to me, "I'm sorry you got dragged into this Mia." I shrugged. I didn't want Stiles to know that seeing Derek hurt and not being able to do anything about it was killing me on the inside. The fact that he is practically dying in front of me and I can't do anything reminds me more of how helpless I was with my friends.

"Next time you either kill with him or get killed. So if you wanna stay alive, then you need me. Find the bullet," Derek spoke ending the call.

Kill with him or get killed? I don't want to imagine my brother going through either.

Stiles started the car again and headed towards the Animal Clinic. As soon as we arrived, we started to get out of the car when Stiles got a text.

"Does 'Nordic Blue Monkshood' mean anything to you?" Stiles asked looking at Derek. "It's a rare form of wolfsbane, he has to bring me the bullet," Derek stated. "Why?" Stiles questioned.

"Because I'm gonna die without it."
