"Derek!" I yelled out into the Hale house. It was dark but the light had shown through just enough to see the grand staircase in front of me.

"Derek! I know you're in here!" I yelled, staring up the staircase. After no response, I walked into the room on my left. This room was now dark and I could barely see. I walked slowly but stopped when I felt my heel dip down into a hole in the floorboard.

"Shit," I whispered to myself as I pried my foot and heel out of the hole.

"Dammit Derek, are you pretending you're not here because you know I'm pissed?!" I yelled.

"You're pissed?" He asked from behind me making me turn and gasp.

I smacked his chest. "Dammit you scared me," I whispered under my breath.

"But yeah I am pissed, you betrayed my brother, you lied," I said but I could tell he wasn't listening. Even though it was dark, he was eyeing my red dress in the dark.

"Derek!" I yelled in face drawing his attention back to me.

"You strung my brother along making him think there was a cure when all along there was no cure. You wanted to become the Alpha!" I yelled making him shake his head.

"You don't get it, Mia. I had no other choice," He tried reasoning but I shook my head. "You had every other choice!" I spoke trying to make my way past him but he stopped me. "Like how you had every choice to say no to Peter? What the hell is wrong with you Mia? Taking the bite? Haven't you seen how much damage being like us causes? Seen what's it's done to your brother and friends?" Derek asked now being the one to yell.

"Peter was gonna exchange me for Scott," I spoke with tears in my eyes. "You ruined that," I stated making him shake his head.

"Oh my god, and now I'm..." I said realizing what I had done. I could feel it coursing in my veins the whole night. I was different. I was transitioning into one of them.

"Oh my god," I let out again.

"Mia, it's okay," Derek said grabbing my face and staring into my eyes. "This is why it's perfect that I'm the Alpha. You'll be apart of my pack. I'll help you. I can train you. We can be-"

"Wait stop," I said softly. "Derek, I can't be in your pack. You betrayed my brother. You lied to us, you lied to me..."

He let go of me. "What're you saying?"

I gulped trying to hold back my tears.

"I'm saying. I think we're done."
