"Mom making me get the groceries as a punishment is lame," Scott said. "No, what's lame is that she made me come with you and help," I said helping Scott with carrying the groceries to our car, which was nowhere to be found.

We had gone on two different floors and still couldn't remember where we parked. "I could've sworn it was on this level," Scott said while placing his bags on the ground. He got the keys out of his pocket and waved his hand around pressing the alarm button. I could hear the faint sound of the car, it sounded like it was on the floor above us.

"Crap," Scott said as we both looked and saw a can roll under a car. I placed my bags down as well and walked over to the car that the can had just rolled under. We analyzed as the can then rolled back out to us, appearing to this time, be leaking.

I then heard a low growl, "Mia, run!" Scott then took off running. Not being able to react fast enough, I felt two hands grab around my waist picking me up and moving me to behind the car. Before I could scream, my mouth was covered by a bigger hand.

"Relax, it's just me," Derek whispered making me instantly melt into him.

He removed his hand and I turned to face him. I was about to say something when he signaled me to be quiet.

"Be right back," Derek whispered as his face started to change form and he ran in the direction Scott did.

After a few moments, a bunch of car alarms started to go off. I then followed where they ran down two levels, and saw Derek standing from afar. I walked over to see all of the car's lights blinking while they made insanely loud noises. Out of all the car alarms, I faintly heard Scotts ringtone go off.

Derek then pinpointed where Scott hid. Derek jumped on top of the cars until he reached Scott. He then picked Scott up by his shirt then slammed him onto the hood of a car.

I quickly rushed over to them hoping Derek didn't actually hurt him in doing whatever this whole thing is.

Scott groaned as Derek panted out, "You're dead."

Derek then got off of Scott and helping him up. "What the hell was that?" Scott asked.

Finally, the obnoxious car alarms stopped, and Scott noticed I was standing there. "And why the hell did you not run?" Scott questioned making me scoff. "I said I was going to teach you I didn't say when," Derek stated before I could even answer Scott.

Derek began walking away with us following.

"Well, you scared the crap out of me!" Scott yelled. "Not yet," Derek said plainly. "Okay, but I was fast. right?" Scott questioned. "Not fast enough, I think your sister could have caught up to you," Derek stated, making me smirk.

"But she didn't," Scott stated.

Derek turned to him, "Yeah because before she could run, I got to her," Derek said with a little attitude and continued to walk.

"But-but the car alarm thing? That was smart right?" Scott asked. "Till your phone rang," Derek stated. "Yeah, but that was, I mean," Scott said trying to find words. They continued going back and forth in this argument for what felt like forever.

"I need you to teach me how to control this," Scott pleaded. "Look, I am what I am because of birth, you were bitten. teaching someone who was bitten takes time," Derek spat out angrily to Scott making me jump a little at his tone of voice.

Derek looked to me then back to Scott, realizing he was a little too harsh. "I don't even know if I can teach you," he sighed.

"What do I have to do?"

"You have to get rid of distractions," Derek stated and grabbed Scott's phone. Derek shoved it his in face, "You see this? This is why I caught you." I looked at the phone screen and saw it was Allison who had called him. "You want me to teach you? Get rid of her."
