The next morning, I woke up and made myself some coffee and breakfast.

After meeting Derek last night, I hadn't been able to get him out of my mind. He was insanely hot, but what was he doing at that house? There's no way he lives there. Plus, how could I be thinking about how hot he was when he could've killed that girl in the woods?

Shaking the thoughts of Derek from my head, I looked at the time. I had to leave in 15 minutes if I didn't wanna be late for school. "Scott, we're gonna be late come on!" I yelled up the stairs.

Scott never wakes up this late.

Time passed and it was now 5 minutes before we had to leave, and I hadn't heard a peep from Scott's room.

"Scott, come on!!" I yelled again, but this time storming up the steps. I approached his door ranting about how I'm trying not to be late this year because I want to be a better student. I knocked on the door after hearing nothing come from his room again. I pressed my ear to the door trying to listen for anything.

"Scott," I said quietly as I slowly opened the door to reveal an un-slept bed and no Scott.

"Weird," I thought out loud to myself.

I looked at the time again and saw how late I was going to be.

Crap.

"Mom!" I yelled. "Did Scott take the car?" I asked storming into her room as she was getting ready for bed. She typically worked the night shifts, and she had just gotten home. "No, I just got home about an hour ago and he was gone. I thought maybe he caught a ride with Stiles or something," My mom explained with a shrug.

"Okay, well he didn't tell me so I already missed the bus. Can I take the car?" I asked and she hesitated before nodding. "Yes, just be careful and bring it home straight after school. I have work again tonight," she stated and I nodded.

"Thank you, thank you," I said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

As I turned to make my way out of her room, she stopped me. "Wait, how was your first day yesterday?" she asked making me take a deep breath. I didn't want to have this talk.

"Can we talk about it later?" I asked making her frown. "I just..don't want to be late," I said making an excuse for getting out of this conversation.

"Okay," she nodded as I exited the room and made my way downstairs.

As I walked outside and to the car, I stopped in my tracks. I started getting this weird feeling, the same feeling I had yesterday in the woods. The feeling like I was being watched. I looked all around and didn't see anything.

After making sure there was no one, I shrugged the feeling off and got in the car.

Once I got to school, with just enough time left, I found Scott and Stiles by their lockers. "Where were you this morning?" I asked punching Scott in the shoulder. "You had me worried that something happened to you. You too," I said looking at Stiles. "Since neither of you answered your phones," I stated, because on the way I had tried calling and texting the two of them.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry Mia. I just, uh, I," Scott started to say but couldn't finish. "We had an early morning lacrosse practice," Stiles said finishing his sentence. "Yeah-yeah and I left pretty early and I know how much you like your beauty sleep," Scott continued. I eyed the two suspiciously, "Okay, fine. I'll accept it this time," I said folding my arms.

Those two had never been good at lying.
