A few days had passed, and rumors were starting to go around of Jackson and Lydia being attacked or witnessing an attack last night. I wasn't totally sure, like I said, rumors.
"Wait so what happened?" I questioned Scott and Stiles as we walked into school. "Lydia and Jackson were at that video shop last night, where one of the employees got killed by a 'wild animal'," Stiles said with air quotes. "AKA, the Alpha! I saw the whole aftermath cause I was with my dad."
"Me too, Derek and I were there," Scott started to say. All my mind went to was Derek, and the last moment we had together. I hadn't seen him in a few days since he was starting to spend more time with Scott while trying to track down the Alpha.
I guess seeing Derek's uncle finally gave Scott some reason to start trusting Derek.
"Derek?" Stiles questioned while scoffing. "I still don't trust him you know." Scott nodded in agreeance. "Neither do I, but when we find the Alpha we're gonna stop him from causing all of these attacks. So for now, I have to."
"I still don't see what you guys see," I said standing up for Derek. "Derek isn't that bad of a guy." Scott and Stiles both whipped their heads to me.
"How would you even know?" Scott questioned. "Seemed pretty nice to me when he was shot," I said shrugging my shoulders. "Yeah, cause he was desperate for help," Stiles said rolling his eyes.
As if on cue the bell rang. Stiles and I said our goodbyes to Scott. I linked arms with Stiles as we walked to our next class together.
"What's up with the whole standing up for Derek, hmm?" Stiles questioned as he caught up to me. I shrugged, "I dunno."
He eyed me suspiciously and I rolled my eyes. I didn't want to give away that I'm secretly talking with Derek so I spoke up again. "I was just stating that you guys barely know him, you should at least give him another chance."
"Sure, okay," Stiles said sarcastically as we walked into the classroom unlocking arms and taking seats next to each other.
The final bell rang and our teacher began to start. "Just a friendly reminder, parent teacher conferences are tonight. Students below a "C" average are required to attend," He spoke. I turned to Stiles and mouthed 'You', to which he glared at me shaking his head. "I wont name you because the shame and self disgust should be more than enough punishment."
All heads turned as the door made a noise from shutting and in walked douche bag Jackson Whittemore. The room went completely silent as everyone remembered the events rumored that occurred last night. Truthfully, I myself was shocked he even bothered to show up to class regardless of what may or may not have happened.
As Jackson took his seat, our teacher walked up to him and whispered something to him. Jackson nodded as the teacher then walked to the front of the room, "Everyone start reading chapter nine." I went to open my book and saw in the corner of my eye that Stiles had already started reading. I turned my head fully to see he had the cap of a highlighter in his mouth while he intently read and highlighted almost every word.
"Mr. Stilinski, try putting the highlighter down in between paragraphs. It's chemistry, not a coloring book." Our teacher spoke make Stiles stop what he was doing.
He tilted his head up and blew out the cap to the highlighter making it go up in the air then fall down into the palm of his hand.
"Wow, you're so cool," I sarcastically whispered to him making him roll his eyes at me and gave a small smile.
He looked up and stared at Jackson before turning to his friend Danny who was sitting behind us. "Hey Danny, can I ask you a question?" He whispered but loud enough for me to hear. "No," Danny said plainly while continuing to read his book. I began to do the same, but couldn't help but to eavesdrop.
