Thursday had already arrived, the last day of what's been an incredibly long and stressful year-
But our stresses aren't over just yet-
"Okay, your first symptom is frequent bruising and bleeding such as... nosebleeds and bleeding gums?" Ethan said from the bedroom.
I came in from the bathroom pulling up my tights and asked "how long does it take to develop?"
"Roughly 3 weeks." He said.
I pursued my lips as I went to the wardrobe, and glanced over my shoulder to him.
"Acute myeloid leukemia-"
He smiled as I looked back to the wardrobe as I said "cancer of the myeloid cells. Incredibly fast progressing. The cancer effectively damages the tissue and the myeloid cells that right against bacterial infection."
"Good girl. And what are the other symptoms?"
"... losing weight. Looking pale, fatigue, frequent infections due to the damaged immune system and breathlessness."
"Treatment?"
I slipped on my skirt and put my blouse on my arms as I went to the bed and straddling him comfortably.
"Chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or bone marrow or stem cell transplant."
He gave an approving nod and said "very good. A few months ago you struggled with the different types of leukemia, remember?"

"Well done. Something tells me that you have turned into a walking encyclopedia."
"Hm. Not yet. I still can't diagnose the different types of leukemia." I raised my brow.
"It's not easy to do. But you got a couple right. It's something we'll revisit. You'll get it."
Now....
I nodded and said "you said I would get the hang of it."
"And you did..."
He cupped my cheek and kissed me softly as I said "you should have woke me up... could have gotten some more time in."
"You needed to sleep rookie. You were up late going over things, I wasn't going to tire you out further." He stroked my cheek.
