The past week or so, Edenbrook, along with it's staff have been overwrought.
And every single day is a day closer until the inevitable end.
And since the beginning, we knew things would end this way. We knew that any manifestos we could devise would only be delaying the crash and the fall.
If the titanic proved anything, even the vessels that are supposedly the strongest have their weaknesses. And if it's pried at, if its disturbed even at the slightest, then havoc breaks out, sending the strongest into a spiral of turmoil.
Dramatic? Possibly so. But I cannot help but think under the circumstances that are going to make many staff financial unstable, and many unemployed for the long term....
I ran my hand over my beard and closed my eyes as I sighed, composing myself fully, before pushing the door open to the diagno-....
To the former, diagnostics office.

Sitting on the floor, with a lamp to only alight the room, Valerie sat, placing folders in boxes, labels surrounding her and a pen tucked in to the spray of curls sitting precariously on top of her head in a bun.
I leaned against the frame of the door, as I watched how she sat with her lip between her teeth, in her own thoughts and not even focusing on the room around her, every movement appearing to be muscle memory.
"Valentine."
She snapped out of her gaze and peered up to me, relaxing just a little and releasing her lip that was now red and bruised as it often is.
"Doctor Ramsey....Hey."
"You're still here." I raised a brow.
"Um...well...yes. You see, there's a lot that needs doing, and packing up the office, getting ready to go just....it will be less painful to do everything gradually."
Her gaze barley met mine as she shifted her self just a little, from what I could tell- she was in no position to be working this late.
I sighed and went over to her, and sat behind, lying down and supporting myself up by my arm as I watched her face.
"It's scary, isn't it?"
She nodded, fiddling with the hem of her skirt as she said "Me and the others...we've started looking at other residenceys. And....they're all so far away E, I don't want to lose them....I don't want to lose you..." she murmured as she leaned back....
"I know....I know..." I sat a little more comfortable, and pulled her close a she curled up into my embrace.
"You need to rest....You've been off your feet none stop, against my own recommendations."
