Walks and talks

"So, what do you do in your spare time when your not racing?" You asked as you continued your walk around the lake with lando on that cold afternoon.
"Well I have to do a lot of sim work so to make it more fun I do some streaming and like George May join in"
"Ah yes! I've seen him talking away to himself doing those"
"Well apart from gaming I try to get out for a run each day, so my workouts and catch up on my netflix"
"You literally have the most chilled out time but when it's race season it's all hands on isn't it?"
"Yeah that's why I never have time to socialise apart from anyone within F1" he said
"Well I'm sure we will spend time together socialising if I get the job"
"I hope you do, is feel safe in your hands"
"George will be jealous your getting my massages instead of him ahah. Thing is, you will be grateful unlike George who thinks it's a free service"
"I'll be looking forward to them then ahah"

"We've walked for miles and only spoke about life in F1, I want to get to know you. And not just Anna the physiotherapist" lando said looking into your eyes
"Well erm what do you want to know?"
"What's your favourite food?"
"Probably pizza, or salmon or.."
"Salmon? Fish? Are you for real!?" Lando said stopping dead in his tracks
"Yeah like salmon with noodles and stir fry"
"That is rank. I'm sorry but I can't agree there. Pizza yes. Fish nooooo way!"
"Ok I'll remember that then" you laughed
"Speaking of food, if you bring chocolate cake to my trailer before a race I'll love you forever" lando said with a smirk
"Love me forever, that's a bold statement Mr Norris" you replied
"Well let's see if it's true" lando replied making your cheeks blush

Did he want to love you forever or were you just overthinking it all, he couldn't be serious could he?
You felt your phone buzzing in your pocket and lando changed his manner
"It's Zak.." you said
"Open it quick!" He said all excited
"Hi Zak, hope your ok? Mm yeah.. ok... great thank you... see you Monday" you said as lando stood there with equal amount of nerves
"And?"
"Say hello to your physiotherapist for McLaren" you said so smug
"That's amazing! Congratulations" lando said and without thought hugging you. He felt warm and safe but still strong and protective as he embraced you. As you held him back you gave a smile into his neck as you were so pleased you would be spending time with McLaren but most importantly with the boy you found stop thinking about since New Year's Eve.

Since the walk kind of date but not thingy with lando you felt different and not just because you got the job but you felt nervous around him. When you were in McLaren HQ you felt butterflies around him and you hadn't even given anyone treatment or seen anyone since starting which you presumed was a good thing.

It was now February and you were getting ready for the first lot of testing in Spain. Most of the team flew out three days before and so did lando and Carlos but the rest of the team and yourself flew out the following day before practice started. You and lando had exchanged numbers during the time you got spare to go for coffee and walks and it was becoming very frequent he would just message you to talk to you.

Lando: it's shit here something you to goof around with

You: goof? We need to be professional now. It's game time and you better not injure yourself now

Lando: don't worry I've been on my best behaviour. I was wondering if you would like to join me for dinner tonight after you land?

You: yeah sure, who else is there?

Lando: I was thinking it cold just be us?

You: I'd love that, yes. I'll meet you in the lobby at 7

Lando: great, can we call this a date?

You: a date? Well... I'll think about what I'll call it but I'll meet you at 7

Lando: :)

A date? Well, it was obvious you both had feelings for each other but this was a new step. You don't know what to say to lando about how you felt, you didn't want him to loose focus on his racing but you really wanted to let him know.

He was really shy at times and at McLaren you had to keep it professional and secretive if you were meeting or flirting like usual.

George was really missing you not being at Williams with him as you would always go to the beach before or hit the gym together and he said it felt as if part of him was missing. You obviously felt guilty but McLaren offered so much more.

When you arrived at the hotel in Barcelona you were all given your room keys and 'set free' until the first day which was the 19th.
"Anna, hey! Let me know if you need anything" one of the PRs said as she walked up the stairs to her floor
"Thank you, I think I'll survive ahah" you laughed as you briskly rushed to your room to get ready to meet lando at 7.

It was already 6pm now and you had to be ready in an hour, you let down your hair and straightened it while throwing on a red midi floral dress. The heat abroad was always so hot that any chance you got anyway from shirt and pants you took to wear a skirt or dress.

"6:54! Shit!" You said looking at your phone

It was a mad rush down to the lobby but you managed to casually stroll in looking all sweet to see lando stood looking out one of the windows.

You walked up behind him trying not to make a sound and taped him on his shoulder for him to notice you.
"Hello mr Norris" you said with a smile
His face dropped as he saw you all dressed up
"You look beautiful Anna" he managed to pull out
"Thank you, your looking very fancy yourself" you replied.

Lando had on a pair of suit pants and a white shirt although he would rather have his joggers on and a hoodie so you were impressed. Well even he was impressed.

The restaurant you went wasn't far from the hotel but far enough to get away from anyone who might suspect anything. You and lando had been treating each other as best friends the last few months and it was getting to a point that someone needed to make a move.

"So I think we should call this a date" lando said taking a mouthful of food
"You do? And what makes you think that?" You said trying to pick for his answer
"I think- I - um well I think we both know how we feel"
"I agree- well I think you feel the same way"
"I really like you Anna and not just because your really pretty but because you make me smile and you make me remember why I love what I do."
"I'm glad you feel the same because so really like you too and I feel different with you than I do with other people so that must mean something"

Lando places his hand over yours that was spare on the table and held your hand so naturally, it was like you were made for his hands. His eyes traced down to your hand then back to your eyes.

"I'm glad you feel the same way. I don't think we should say to anyone how we feel about each other until anything happens that needs to be discussed" lando said
"I agree, the last thing I want is people believing I only joined because of you. Even though you are a big bonus" you laughed still keeping it civilised.
"Then we are on our date. First of many of course" lando said so happy with himself
"Ok then. It's a date. And you know what happens on a date?" You said
"I don't know. I've been told some end with two shots of tequila and a dick in someone's mouth" lando laughed
"I wasn't going for that ending" you said and he looked at you with those damn eyes!
"No, I'll be walking you back to your room and making sure your safe"
"Thank you, I don't want to walk alone back to my room after spending the night being with you" you smiled.

Lando kept his word and when you arrived back to the hotel he walked you to your room. As you got to your door you turned to face him,
"Thank you for this evening, it was lovely" you said with a smile
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. Just being able to get away from everything some times is the best" he replied
"I agree, um I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Yeah I'll probably be in the paddock by time you get there we are doing a walk of the track in the morning"
"No worries, we'll be careful, don't get injured" you laughed
"I know I'm clumsy but I'm not that clumsy. And I hope this isn't a clumsy move .." lando said as he kissed you on your cheek.
"That wasn't clumsy at all, goodnight lando"
"Goodnight Anna, sleep well"
