Russell's Cousin- Lando Norris story

March 13th

"It's cancelled?" You said in a shock that you expected as you sat in the McLaren cafe at HQ.
"Yeah.. well I don't know what I'm going to do until then. Everything seems to be getting friggin cancelled" lando said as he stared at his emails in frustration.
"It will be over soon, then you will be back I'm sure-"
"No. Have you seen the state of the world? It's over"
"Lando come back here!" You called as he stormed off

Carlos was still sat next to where lando was in silence.
"I'm so sorry Carlos, I'm sure it will be back"
"I hope so too but for now we need to keep working and practicing and try to get over to lando that it will be ok." You had to admit that Carlos always spoke the truth.
"It will. He will come around. He's just having one of those days where he is moody"
"Well he is a teenager" Carlos said laughing
"I'm younger! He's 20"
"But you act mature. He's a muppet at times and doesn't think" Carlos said
"Well I'll give him ten minutes for some space then I'm going to talk to him to try and sort something out."
"Good luck"
"Oh and I'll call for you if you don't mind when he comes round to see what the best plan will be for keeping you two fit and healthy"
"Ok, good luck again. You need double good luck" he laughed

Like you said you gave it ten minutes before going to find where lando went. You checked his office first but he wasn't there so you checked the show room but there was no sign. You then went to the sim room to find lando completely zoned out and hammering the sim. He was so focused on the race he didn't even realise you walked in.
"Lando?" You said trying to get his attention but he didn't even look
"Lando, please.."
"Lando!" You called louder and he turned his head.
"Anna, I'm sorry I shouldn't have said what I said" he apologised
"It's ok, you must feel frustrated I know. We need to talk about what is going to happen" you said walking closer
"Yeah, I'm sure there will be a meeting so yeah"
"It's ok.." you said walking over to give him a small hug as you rested you head on his

Lando was right, a set of small meetings were being called by each department. The engineers and mechanics were in one, media in another, the big bosses in another and the health and physical were in another. Carlos and lando didn't fit in a category so they came with you as it was their health being discuses.

"Carlos, lando, we will be setting meal plans and delivering food each Monday for you to stick to during the week. Obviously the country look like it it going into a lockdown so please do not go to any shops. If you do need anything we will send a member of the team to do a weakly shop wherever you need and deliver it" one of the health coaches said
"Do we have to cook it?" Lando asked with a concerned look on his face.
"Yes well no one will be allowed in your house it's a lockdown."
"Oh shit. I'm not Gordon Ramsey I race cars. If I don't make it out of lockdown I've set the house on fire with my cooking."
"Wow your crap aren't you?" Carlos asked
"Yeah it's that bad.."
"And lando.. you need to watch how much milk you drink, I know we had a bit of an issue last year with it so please make sure you just control it."
"Got it, you will be glad to know I've not had one glass all year yet" he proudly said
"So Anna, what are your plans for the physiotherapy?" Carlos asked
"Well I will need to wear PPE when I go over but I could do with limiting it to every other week seeing them"
"Every other week!" Lando said realising the meaning of what he said and he slowly sank in his seat
"Um yeah, but we can work that out between ourselves I'm sure?" You tried to get over
"Ok then, I think we have that sorted um yeah, so everyone is being sent home and emails will be sent with zoom meeting details and updates." The main advisor said and you all sat there in silence not knowing what to do.

As you left the building you saw lando waiting in his car
"Anna!" He shouted
"You ok?"
"How am I only going to love seeing you for an hour every two weeks?" He said holding your hand through the window
"I don't know and I was thinking the same thing"
"Where are you staying?" He asked
"I have a flat in the town centre. Don't worry it had a balcony so I'll be able to get some fresh air"
"Stay at mine. I have loads of spare rooms, I'm going to get lonely too?" He said with those puppy eyes
"I'll let you know tonight. I need to work things out for how I'm doing the whole thing anyways. I'll let you know"
"Well don't worry about the next few night but let me know ok?"
"I will, see you soon lando"
"Ditto"

You sat. You thought and you couldn't understand how you would spend time away from each other.
*Text Message to Lando*
You: so.
Lando 🧡: and?
You: I've decided I'd like to stay at yours if that's still ok?
Lando 🧡: yes! I'll come round yours to row to pick stuff up be ready for the time of your life at hotel Norris
You: hotel Norris? So I'll be getting five star treatment
Lando🧡: even better than that ..
