Heated Rivalry

The nice surprise after the season started was that McLaren were competitive. That competitive that lando won his first race in Miami. It was a whirlwind of a weekend and unfortunately you were back at home in Monaco when it happened. The guilt you felt, missing his first win, missing that first victory of many was something which was hard to swallow. As soon as he was off the podium he phoned you to see if you were awake, of course you were awake that was a silly question, by lap 30 your phone had been blowing up with everyone telling you that you needed to watch the race ASAP.

On a personal note, you had been resting while still keeping active as you were trying again to fall pregnant and you had to admit you were starting to feel more positive over the matter and stopped putting so much pressure on your body through all the international travelling. Spending the warm sunny days in Monaco, either shopping or eating or meeting up with people for leisurely walks was definitely the life you could get used to. As George had newly moved out there carmen officially joined him and left her London job and home. You both became inseparable if she wasn't at a race. The bonds George and Lando had were really starting to show on track. Especially as everyone was challenging the red bulls or should we say red bull.

The red bull ring, says it all. It's dominated by red bull for testing and is usually dominated on race weekends too. With it being a European track you decided to go along with Lando simply as his girlfriend rather than support staff for anyone. The mountains that engulfed the surroundings were something out of a painting. There wasn't another track so naturally beautiful, especially when the sun was shining. Since Landos victory the points between him and max had been getting closer and closer. The constructors championship was definitely a potential for McLaren if they played their cards right with both cars.

You had some weird gut feeling all week that this was another victory that would come his way, you may of missed the first but you wouldn't ever miss another.

As you sat twirling you paddock VIP pass between your fingers, you sipped on a mango smoothie that had freshly been made. The sound of a chair pulling out drew your attention from the TV screens to your side
"Hey baby" you heard him say
"Hiya hunny, interviews all done?" You asked lando
"All done. I hate the Saturday interviews after quali they ask you questions you have no genuine idea to!" He huffed as he swigged a sip from your drink
"You must of had one good question" you joked
"Got one off some you kid. Think they were into racing themselves. He asked what advice I would have for the younger me."
"Aw that's so lovely, people do genuinely see you as an idol" you replied complimenting him
"Well I started with saying how I'm still young myself and I'm still learning but I just said along the lines of enjoy every minute of life, be kind to everyone and everything because that can make their day, make their year" he smiled proudly to himself
"Well I think that advice is very useful so well done you for being so eloquent with your words."

You smiled at him brightly before he pulled you into his arms, embracing you tightly. "Ah" he sighed "I could stay like this forever"
"Me too baby but you're squishing my face" you said very muffled from within his jacket.

You were all lucky enough to be in the same gorgeous accommodation as last year. A beautiful barn conversion style building just out from the track, over looking into the valleys and hills. There had been some more updated assets within the house though, one which especially caught your eye.... A newly refurbished, outdoors, with blue tooth speakers and lights... hot tub. Perfect! You didn't manage to make use of this last night after you got back from the track as you all went for a team meal of schnitzels but tonight was a lot quieter and you could just spend some time relaxing before what would undoubtedly be a very high tension race.

Lando was one to always be some form of half clothed in the house and since returning from the track at around 6pm, he had been walking around in his swim shorts just ready to get in. It was like taking a child on holiday, keeping them entertained while the adults did adulting. "Come on Anna! I've been waiting all evening" he shouted from outside, you stepped onto the balcony, overlooking where he sat in the hot tub
"I'm coming down now! I'll be two seconds"
