Russell's Cousin- Lando Norris story

Strong start

It had been nearly a month since the pre testing at Silverstone and testing had taken place in Bahrain two weeks before you were back with the team for the first race of the 2021 season. It would be your first trip with the team as you booked leave during the testing weekend to be with your family as it would be once again a busy year and the next chance you may see them could quite possibly be Christmas.

"You have one pass to last you the season, do not loose it" you sternly said to lando just as you pulled up to the gates of the Bahrain track.
"I won't. Well I'll try not to do so" he smiled before helping you out and grabbing his bag.
"Two jobs, drive, don't loose it" you laughed
"Ok ok yes ma'am. Carmen is here today George just texted" he said as you put your sunglasses on
"Oh that's good, I'll try to see her today but if not I'll speak to her tomorrow during the race. I think it's going to be a strong start this weekend, you did so well in testing and free practice and so did some of the others."
"It's going to be closer this year I think" lando replied
"I'm seriously debating if Mercedes will win, you never know Williams might do it this year" you smirked
Lando looked at you with that 'seriously' face and you just hurt out laughing. As much as you loved it at Williams you never got a glimpse of a trophy let's say.

"Morning Andreas" lando said as you both walked into the garage to fine the team of engineers working away through data and prepping the car for the day.
"Morning guys, you ready to send it?" He asked lando
"Of course, I've been waiting since December ahah"
"Good then you will hopefully start in the top half of the grid, Daniel is just doing some media work with the team but then he will be ready for physio Anna so you might want to go and get ready to stop the rush" he said flicking through pages of notes for the weekend
"Will do, lan I'll go drop these bags off then get to Daniel, can you have your lunch before I get back?" You asked
"Can do, do you need a hand with anything before you go over?"
"I don't think so, just drop these bags off"

As you walked to the cabins you saw Carlos down the paddock with Isabel so you have a friendly wave before carrying on, just as you got to the front of landos cabin you felt a hand on your shoulder.
"Anna" Carlos said
"Oh god I've missed you buddy!" You said as he hugged you
"I'm so sorry to hear about the other week, I can't believe it. I'm so angry I was telling Isabel" he said shaking his head in disgust
"I'll be fine, it was hard reading but I guess you can't be everyone's friend. I just hope that's the end of it for some time. I can't be doing with it again."
"It's jealousy" he replied reassuring you
"I think it's because I'm not a model or some celebrity really I'm not accepted the same was as like Charlotte and Isabel. I'm just Anna Russel who is cousins with a driver"
"Don't say that! Your the one and only Anna Russel, the best physiotherapist and one of the kindest people. Don't let it get you down ok?" He said, you nodded in response to his statement. "I have to go to the garage but I'll see you soon"
"See you later Carlos" you waved before opening the door.

You quickly threw your bags down, grabbed a bottle of water and made you way over to Daniel.

"Good afternoon Daniel, how are you doing?" You asked as you walked through the door
"I'm gooood, little stiff on the left shoulder but I'll survive just about" he mocked
"Oh god that sounds awful, you will be lucky to make it through the weekend with a stiff shoulder" you laughed as you motioned for him to lie down.
"How was your time off?" He asked
"Oh um- I needed it. I needed the break away before everything" you smiled as you grabbed a lotion for his skin
"Was it to see family yeah?"
"Yeah I'm probably not going to see them for a while because I get so busy but I needed a break away after the other weekend. It just got a bit too much. I don't know how to deal with it." You explained in confidence
"It can be so shitty. Like I love my job but I hate it at the same time. I think that's why I try and make people laugh so I'm not laughed at if that makes sense?" Daniel said
"That does make sense in a strange way. I just didn't want to put a burden on lan, he works so hard and doesn't deserve any negativity from me so I thought it would be best to have the week away. Is this feeling any better" you asked as you continued rubbing down his shoulder and arm
"It does thank you, I think I need to get one of those guns"
"Gun?"
"Yeah those massage ones you can do yourself" he said
"Ohh I was like what? What do you mean" you laughed "you had me worrying there for a moment"
"Yeah nah I leave gangster Riccardo in Australia" he calmly said
"You make me laugh too much and it's only the first weekend"
"You have 22 more of these to do" he laughed before sitting up
"Well I hope that's helped a little. If you need anything else you know where to find me, good luck today and be safe ok?" You asked
"I will, promise" he smiled
